I would say do things which give you happiness, don’t run/jump in something which you are not meant to do, Initially, things might not work out but eventually with time and hard work you will be able to reach your goals.
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
My name is Mehak Dhawan. I am 25 years old. I live in New Delhi, born and brought up in a Punjabi family. I was really keen on trying & exploring new places and food joints. In college, my interest grew bigger with the pocket money I got. I would explore new places and upload them on my personal profile.
After getting a lot of appreciation from friends and family, I started my own blog and discovered my interest in food photography and exploring. I have been graduated from Delhi university, awarded as one of the best students in co-curricular activities of my college.
I was really passionate about clicking pictures. I was a part of many societies due to which I got a lot of opportunities to explore new things and places. I remember with the pocket money I got I used to go to new places to explore food, culture, and heritage.
2. When did you first decide that you wanted to create digital content and how did you start?
I was in college 3rd year when I was a part of a food publication. I started clicking food pictures and one day I decided to have a page of my own on 1st July 2016. I didn’t know I would come so far and since then there is no looking back.
3. Is vlogging and digital content creation a financially sustainable career?
Yes, definitely I agree not all days are the same, but if you work hard and do your work with full zeal and passion nothing is impossible.
4. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?
Umm, I didn’t have any inspiration as such because when I started, there is only a handful of people who were doing content creation. I just started and learnt a lot in the last 5 years, and eventually started carving the path for myself.
5. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring digital creators?
I would say do things which give you happiness, don’t run/jump in something which you are not meant to do, Initially, things might not work out but eventually with time and hard work you will be able to reach your goals. Set small and realistic goals and always compete with yourself.
6.Which is your favourite book and why?
