1. Tell us about your background and journey.
I’m Mahir, 20 and I’m from Delhi. I have been in the city for my entire life along
with my close-knit Punjabi family. However, I decided to do my undergraduate
from NMIMS, Mumbai. I was there for a year before the covid hit, but it is safe to say that it was one of the best experiences of my life. Moving away from home and into a new city gave me some much-needed perspective and confidence.

I’m pursuing BBA and plan on building my own business as well as carry on my family’s. Not to mention, my side hustle- content creation.
2. What led you to start your blog and what is it about?
I remember getting into YouTube around 8th grade. While my friends watched
movies and shows, all I did was watch YouTubers and they shaped me in a lot of
ways. A notable group that I followed and still do, is called “Sidemen”. They’re UK-based creators who did a lot of football and lifestyle content with their boy's group. I’ve always been tight with my boys and thus, could relate a lot.

Shortly after, I went on a trip with my family to the Maldives where they designated me as the photographer. instead of clicking pictures of them, instead, I made a travel vlog for myself. My family wasn’t too pleased but the entire process brought joy to me. That’s when I knew how much I enjoyed capturing my story. I always say- I don’t want to just tell my story, I want to show it. A few years down the line, I finally decided to pursue my passion and chase my dreams- I began my content creation journey and haven’t looked back since.
It’s been a lovely experience that has brought numerous opportunities my way.
Currently, I do entertainment and relatable comedy on my Instagram and vlogs +
sit down videos with my friends and family on YouTube. Daily reels and weekly
videos on YouTube.

3. Is it financially sustainable to be a digital creator these days?
It definitely is financially sustainable as long as you’re pulling in the numbers
regularly and providing value to your followers. A micro-influencer can generate the same income as an undergraduate and a macro influencer can generate anywhere from standard MBA salaries to luxury living.
regularly and providing value to your followers. A micro-influencer can generate the same income as an undergraduate and a macro influencer can generate anywhere from standard MBA salaries to luxury living.
It is important to know that shelf life as a creator is short, as there is always something or someone new. So, it is important to diversify and keep your followers engaged and coming back for more.
4. How can someone become a successful content or video creator?
There’s no defined path to success in this field. Be creative, pour your heart into it, perform the best platform practices and keep trying things till something works for you. Now more than ever, it is essential to have your unique take on creation due to the competition. Feel happy to do it, and numbers will follow.
5. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?
It’s usually a product of my own creativity and things around me. Day-to-day
activities can inspire things you don't realise you have in you. I tend to stick to relatable ideas and unique execution of trends.

6. Who is your favourite creator and why?
My favourite creator is KSI. He’s a UK creator, part of the Sidemen- the group I
mentioned before. I have seen him from day 1, going from videos in his mom's
bedroom to selling out arenas via music and boxing. It proves creators can do
anything they want, even better than the traditional entertainers.

7. Which is your favourite book and why?
I’m more of a visual person, so I don’t read enough to have a favourite book.
