Many people ask me and quite often why I always have questions to ask. It is because of my new normal where I realize that the question is to have an answer. To question is a new habit that I always look up to in times of reflection. But please don't confuse it with my overthinking as I have never shown anyone that scary loop. And this time I am back with another for you that questions your conscience.
As my inner voice calls me to proclaim the latest trend that many are not aware of or some try to ignore at any cost but this pandemic actually slapped the truth of Gratitude on our faces from nowhere. And we deserve it too as many heads turning towards complaints and criticisms rather than knowing what they forget each day is to gratitude.
What Is Gratitude?
What do you guys think about gratitude? Is it such a complex mathematical equation that you don't know the answer? Gratitude is simply being thankful for what you have, that kind gesture many of you realize how precious this “Thank You” is to that Universe that gives you life once again to live whereas many don't have that honor to breathe in the shadow of COVID - 19.
If you still forget to be grateful then do it right away don't wait for somebody else to do a typo. This is not just for which you should be grateful whereas there is a list of things pending for you in this Corona Era.
List of Things We All Should be Grateful for
1. You Are Still Alive. Breathing naturally and properly without any problem.
2. Having great health. All body parts are working in natural alignment.
3. Having enough money ( savings, salary, pension) to have basic needs fulfilled.
4. Following your passion, hobbies again and enjoying being you.
5. Still, there is an earning hand or head in your family.
6. Afford to go to educational institutions.
7. Parents not forcing you to get married (especially girls because of lack of money and many other reasons).
8. Spending happy time with family or friends watching mythological shows, playing games, and others.
9. Able to give your exams like neet, jee main, jee advance, SSC and etcetera.
And many more questions …… that are far beyond our expectations that we barely could be thankful for forever. But we are still caught in the everlasting spiral of complaining like why this lockdown, Why I cannot go outside to have fun, why this network is not working properly, why exams are postponed or not, and many more empty annoying questions. This stereotypical thinking can be changed after knowing the power of gratitude.
Importance of Gratitude
This is itself a unique concept but I try to interpret it according to my knowledge as much as I can.
Firstly, cosmologically one has to be grateful to the Universe as many Law Of Attraction believers state that gratitude will only raise our vibration or energy that helps to attract our wants easily and effortlessly.
Secondly, our brain is mostly on autopilot mode by default whose main work is to produce only negative loops of thoughts or cooked stories. And this becomes worse when you live in a toxic environment. So neuroscience comes with the solution of changing belief systems by being grateful. Your mind feels better day by day and urges you to do much better.
Like, thank your mind consciously and subconsciously for doing that particular work and not binging on social media. It feels like you are talking to your mind and slowly a connection will build with your brain and you can perform better.
Thirdly, likewise the mind you can build a healthy connection with the body as well through the gratitude technique. Like, whenever your body helps you to exercise while you are reluctant to do it or at night when you go to bed you are tired many times (especially women) you should pat your back or feel your body and show your thankfulness to your body that helps throughout the day to do different tasks.
Sometimes you can go for self-care techniques like sound therapy, massage or yoga as your body tells by showing your great gesture again that actually helps to heal your body.
Fourthly, The most important thing where people fail to be grateful is in their relationships. The human being is sometimes just a joke to another human being like he or she has no feelings due to which most of the time it breeds traumas so one should be thankful for their relationships so that they become more harmonious.
Lastly, Be thankful for your ultimate truth, the Spirit that unlocks the door in the horrors of life and connects you to your inner calling.
Ultimately, being grateful can change your perspective and can change your life too but only if you want to do so. This becomes more essential during the crisis; the world is going through as you can actually break the stuckness and can calm yourself to find the next step solutions.
Tips To How To Be Grateful
Initially try to release your hesitation like how am I going to do it, I am not good at it. This comes with a little bit of fear especially for those who are emotionally immature. Next, practice it and for that, you can do future journaling techniques. And you can go for a gratitude journal daily. This actually works for me a lot, you can try too. Moreover, put that ego or defense mechanisms down that you build around yourself in relationships in cold patriarchy and try to show your gratitude. It will help your relations to grow.
Conclusion
I hope after showing gratitude towards my piece of writing and accept the “present” of the present. Feeling the urge to change your attitude and attempt to build “gratitude as your attitude” now or really soon.
