Yet, along with these advantages, Digital Media has negatively affected print media. Publications have started replacing their printed formats with online forms. Print media has been in demand for over 600 years and is the primary news source. Advertisements in television, newspapers, and magazines are declining. Digital Media has many negative repercussions on our life. They focus on fast, convenient, and bite-sized information.
Shallow points of view that aren’t well researched & investigated mislead the audience. It’s too distracting as it interrupts our thoughts and conversations. It drives up anxiety-reducing productivity. Digital media creates a false sense of community for users resulting in extreme loneliness.
Different social media platforms leave us feeling powerless and paralyzed. Instead of feeling empowered, we get tired of the so-called perfect lives. Hate messages, verbal abuse, trolling, and cyberbullying are some bad forms of digitalization. It's overwhelming as well as time-consuming for people to stay on top of the latest trends. They try to keep an eye on different brands and influencers.
Rise in Cybercrime
With the rise in cybercrime, citizens around the world are worried about their information. Examples of cybercrime are cyberbullying, email spamming, viruses, and hacking social media accounts. Hacking and identity theft can expose our details to the world. In the digital age, more organizations are trying to find ways to benefit online.
Social media platforms like Facebook reported an increase in cybercrime. Cybercriminals create a fake identity on digital platforms to communicate with anyone. They share malicious software and viruses over social media with a large audience. Fake news is posing threats globally as networking sites make it easier to reach millions of people within seconds.

Digital Media stores various data such as photos, music, or audio files. These are not only difficult to organize but hard to maintain. The information shared on Digital Media can move immediately. One can edit or manipulate these images, videos, audio, music, and infographics. Photographs are edited on Photoshop while audio and videos can be doctored. Stalking, trolling, cyberbullying, insulting, and threatening have increased with anonymous and fake personas.

In this post-modern society, every organization or business has some digital presence. They share information on their websites, message forums, email lists, and social media. Digital Ethics encompasses how digital media users take part in online conversations. How do they interact with their audience and discuss important news? Digital Ethics approaches questions relating to visual and textual communication. The type of language and tone are appropriate for sensitive situations. How to Communicate Online?
There is no strict code on how to engage or communicate online. But conventions should be considered. This post-modernism praises individualism and personalization. Plagiarism must get avoided. Honest and truthful information should be published. We need to respect privacy as it plays a significant role in Digital Media.
Insulting grounds of race, caste, gender, nationality, and religion need to stop. Only friendly criticism is encouraged without dark humor. Digital Media users should embrace openness, transparency, fairness, and accuracy.
