At that time, I first started selling handmade products like jewellery without leaving my current job. Later I expanded it selling on sites like Amazon and Flipkart. The idea behind starting the agency is because of the failures I faced.
1. Tell us more about your company and your journey.
Newgenmax Digital Solutions is the one-stop solution for all e-commerce needs which was started in the year 2017. Right from account opening to listing their products to getting all the complimenting services like company registration, GST, logo designing, website development, branding, product photography, catalogue development, etc. the agency will take care of end-to-end operations. This is the only agency providing services related to the e-commerce industry.
In 2020, I launched an academy called Nivetha E-Academy which helps newbies to learn the whole process of selling online through the various courses offered. The experienced mentors share all effective strategies and proven methods for becoming effective online sellers.
2. How did you come up with this idea and go about
executing it?
I always had a dream of becoming an entrepreneur. As soon as I finished college, I got a corporate job. At that time, I first started selling handmade products like jewellery without leaving my current job. Later I expanded it selling on sites like Amazon and Flipkart. The idea behind starting the agency is because of the failures I faced.
I thought that many sellers due to their ignorance of the online
industry feared starting an online business. When I gained enough experience
and learning with an e-commerce business, I started sharing my knowledge with
others in my known circle and later with small business owners. I started this
by hiring freelancers which eventually turned up into my agency.
People say that we are transparent
in our work. People started to believe us. Unlike other agencies who are
blindly projecting the results without understanding the base. I think this is
our secret mantra to lead a successful business. When your clients started
believing you, the success eventually starts hitting you.
3. What has been your biggest challenge that you faced and
how did you overcome that?
Of course, every entrepreneur faces financial difficulties. The reality of financial crises hit hard when I had an accident at the time of my marriage. Another biggest challenge I ever faced is building up my team. I initially started working with freelancers and I didn't get their work commitment as expected. At some times, it was like doing a one-man show. Later, I started hiring remotely and things take time to settle.
4. What do you think are the most important qualities of a
successful entrepreneur?
The main quality of being a successful entrepreneur is all about empathy. You have to put yourselves in the client's shoes, and think from their perspective also. Success doesn't come overnight. You have to try out new things and be ready to take the risk.
Even if you fail, it gives you a wonderful learning experience.
You must start the journey of entrepreneurship with a strong mindset to
overcome the challenges, find a solution to all problems that may arise, get
through all hesitations and march forward with one single goal of achieving
your dreams.
5. What are some of the most important factors for running
a successful business?
Some of the important factors for running a successful business is continued perseverance, willpower to overcome all hurdles coming your way, willingness to start and rollout this journey, learning, finding a good mentor or coach, and taking their guidance to understand the methods that will take you to become successful in e-commerce business.
6. What are your tips for first-time and aspiring
entrepreneurs?
First-time sellers might have dreams of starting their own business around their passion. But dreams or passion alone cannot take them to success. They need to have very strong willpower to overcome all hesitations, challenges, problems, etc. All these hurdles are just part of our life, it’s no different in business.
So, we have to move forward handling all these hurdles or difficulties. People should give some time to settle down. Believe in the work you do and wait for the results. Your passion, determination, and hard work all pave the way. I started my journey in 2013. But I got stable only in 2018.
It was a long and organic journey. Yes, I too had faced many highs and lows. Everything is a part of the entrepreneur's journey. Don't compare your first page with some else 80th page. Younger generations want to get rich in a shorter time. They don't understand the ground reality. Give time and start working on what you believe.
7. How can one overcome a hurdle of lack of funds when
starting up?
Many people say, I want to start a business but I don't have enough funds. If you have the will in achieving your passion, you can do anything. Even today I am facing financial issues. Whenever any crisis arises, I used to pledge my gold. I used to take loans from the bank.
You should be prompt in repaying the amount. If you have that determination in taking the gold or paying the credit bills or loan repayment amount as on date, then the sky is your limit.
