When we talk about media it includes TV, Radio, and Newspapers. At the time of independence, there were radio and newspapers. They played an important role in our freedom struggle. Then there was only one goal - India to get freedom from British rule. Newspapers were few in number but there was truth in the news and no trade was. But after independence all the areas gradually became private and the agenda also changed.
Today's India has 400 news channels and 10,000 newspapers but the news is not fair because Now the media wants to earn money and the news goes from whom TRP comes and not that news which is important. What is needed is that India has the world's largest newspaper Market.
This is because of the events happening in which some people say that if any actor or actress has a problem, the media shows them as big news. And when there is a problem among the general public, then Not a word comes out of the throat of the media.
That's because people see the same news likes and this gives ratings to the media like TRP. It stands for Television Rating Point, it shows how much people watch that channel or like it TRP is also a reason why true news is rarely shown.
Why does our media do this?
Media is called the fourth pillar of democracy. Media work happens when the government takes care of the people's issues, reaches out, and shows the truth but today if seen in the atmosphere of the media, its work is not done properly. There are many reasons for this that the media is not doing its job properly.
For example, the media mostly shows the news from which they get profit or TRP. The government uses the media to its advantage. Due to this, the media is not able to do its right job. Many media institutes do things with greed for money. If the media works well they are also pressured or intimidated whether they stop their work or spread lies.
Many media organizations only show hate news which causes tension in society and they get TRP. There is a big difference between the media of today and the media of the past. Earlier media used to become the voice of the people, they used to show related news, but today's media only shows news that has no issue with people’s life.
This is the work of the media in today's time that has been told how to save the government in every issue and suppress the real issues. Where should the media show why unemployment is increasing, inflation, why is it increasing, roads are being built or water is coming, electricity is coming from village to village or not?
The same media Shows that this leader made this statement criticizing the government, communalism everywhere spread, to create tension in society or false reporting, distorting the news, and the media.
This work is done nowadays. This is talking about electronic media. Some in print media except the newspapers, all the newspapers do the same thing. If you see it's a mistake, not just the media, it is also the fault of those who read that news like to see if there is any controversy or any false news because people need controversy in the news.
First people's respect for the media, Earlier, the media used to become the voice of the people, the news related to them used to show but today the media among the people is hatred.
The media doesn't even care that those people make or do not make a sound. India's rank in press freedom in the World Press Freedom index out of 180 countries is 142 in the world. Now the question comes is that independent Judiciary would have happened to India of place below why falling down go Stayed is it?
Whatever our media may be, whether they listen to the government or not, they will always be ahead in one task: to connect the public with the world and our media is doing that work very well.
