Movie Review: Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 - A Perfect Sequel to the Original Hit

Source- Bollywood Hungama

Ruhan Randhawa (Kartik Aaryan) is a baby-faced guy, but the mighty Thakur clan, notably the well-sheltered scion Reet Thakur(Kiara Advani), falls for his novice black-magic tricks. Despite being the sequel of a huge hit—and despite being independent—Anees Bazmee's 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' (BB2) defies expectations. Rather, it stands alone... one voodoo doll at a time.

Movie Name- Bhool Bhulaiyaa

Director’s Name- Anees Bazmee

Genre- Horror Comedy

Language- Hindi

Synopsis(Non-Spoiler)

The narrative of an evil spirit is told in BHOOL BHULAIYAA 2. A family in Bhawanigarh, Rajasthan, was disturbed by the spirit of Manjulika 18 years ago. Manjulika is trapped in a haveli room by a tantric baba (Govind Namdeo). Then he locks the door. Reet (Kiara Advani), a member of the same family, is currently shown as a college student.

She's on her way back to Bhawanigarh because her father wants her to get married to a boy they’ve chosen for her but then she meets Ruhaan (Kartik Aaryan). While travelling the bus, they get along pretty well. She gets off the bus and goes to a music festival at Ruhaan's request. Meanwhile, the bus plunges into a chasm, killing all passengers.

As a result, Reet is assumed dead. At the same time, Reet realises that her soon-to-be husband, Sagar, is in love with Reet's sister, Trisha. As a result, Reet resolves not to tell her family that she is alive, in the hopes of facilitating Sagar's marriage to Trisha's sister. Reet seeks Ruhaan's assistance. Everything is going swimmingly. However, Manjulika's spirit is liberated from the haveli's room one day, causing the haveli to be destroyed. The movie takes an unexpected twist at the end.

About The Director

Anees Bazme is a Bollywood film producer and director from India. He's most known for directing comedies such as No Entry (2005), Welcome (2007), and Singh Is Kinng (2008).

Bazmee began his career as a dialogue writer for the movie Hum Farishte Nahin in 1988. He took a year off after that and returned in 1990 as a writer for David Dhawan's film Swarg, which featured Rajesh Khanna and Govinda. He then worked with Dhawan on multiple occasions after that.

Themes involved

When the traditional boy-meets-girl storyline, a little flirtation, and follow-around are at play, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 does not show potential. Simply put, the 'Jab We Met' concept. But what's to come will undoubtedly keep you captivated. It's a horror-comedy hybrid, but the creators take the humour more seriously. Kartik Aaryan, who plays Ruhan aka Rooh Baba, keeps giving the 'cool vibes' by discreetly saying the appropriate jokes at the right moment.

Bottomline

Overall, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is great entertainment that succeeds thanks to a fantastic blend of horror and comedy. Those who are expecting a spine-chilling encounter from the film may be disappointed. To be honest, there aren't many scary scenes in the movie.

The designers sought to give a hint of horror with shrill noises, thumping sounds, Manjulika's harsh voice, and some aerial shots. But overall, it is expected to rocket off the shelves and become a smashing blockbuster at the box office. It has already crossed the 100 Crores mark and a lot more is expected.

My Ratings for the movie- are 4/5
