Niharika - Don't Lose Your Audience's Trust! (Makeup Artist From India)

Be consistent with what you are doing. Don’t keep changing your niche. Make sure you are posting what people are actually following you for!

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I am Niharika, a small-town girl who loves to live on her own independently! Electrical Engineer by profession but a content creator by choice! I am 25, from Udhampur, a small town in Jammu & Kashmir. 

2. When did you first decide that you wanted to create content and how did you start?

I never thought of becoming a content creator or social media influencer but it all happened in lockdown when I was dealing with acne and literally bad hair fall. I used to watch YouTube videos for days and products to try on. One day I asked my mom, “ Even I can I do Mumma?” I can also create content and educate people.

She is my motivator always! She said Yes why not! Give it a try. That’s how it all started on 17th July 2020. I was doing my master's at that time but was at home due to covid lockdown. I started posting about product reviews, and different tips and tricks regarding skincare and haircare.

3. What do you love about your job the most?

I love that I can earn doing something that I totally love. It makes me happy making new useful content every day. The day I don't want I feel so depressed. My work is my passion and I love when my followers adore my work. 

4. Who is your favourite creator and why?

Sarah Sarosh is my favourite content creator because she is an inspiration I truly love watching her! 

5. How and where do you find inspiration to do what you do?

My inspiration is my Instagram fam! They literally motivate me every day when I read their messages that my recommendations actually worked for them! They actually believe me! That inspires me to work every day to educate people! That random day won’t help them.

We need to start using well-formulated products! Educating is my thing! I try to make useful and relatable content and when it gets that response from my audience it inspires me to work hard every day! 

6. What does your typical day look like?

My day starts by waking up not so early though! But I start my day by checking my emails and DMS! That makes me prepared for the day, I prepare a to-do list every day of what I need to shoot, edit and post! I try to post regularly to be in touch with my audience every day! My typical day looks like this: Shoot, Edit and Post.

7. What piece of advice would you like to give to future makeup artists?

My advice to future or upcoming content creators is to be authentic in what you do! No matter what don’t lose your audience's trust, it's really important. Be consistent with what you are doing. Don’t keep changing your niche. Make sure you are posting what people are actually following you for!
