With the Internet becoming a basic part of our lives, we all are getting more connected to people we don’t even know in person. We have seen them on their social media profiles, we have seen them in their vlogs, and still, we feel we know them quite personally.

It is actually an achievement for them because they are putting so much effort into their content not just for money but also for love and respect. And when their followers give them the desired love and affection, it's not less than some reward for them.

On various social media platforms, we come across several people who show their talent publically. But all of them don’t gain a genuine audience. The people who have a true following do something extra than the rest.

Forbes India recently released a list of India’s top 100 digital stars. Rankings are based on several criteria including their content, their followers, likes, views, consistency, growth, engagement and reach etc.

So, here I am going to share the list of top five content creators according to the ranking by Forbes India and the reasons why they deserve to be there:

  1. Nikhil Sharma

Popularly known as Mumbaikar Nikhil has a massive following on YouTube and Instagram. In 2013, he started sharing vlogs beginning with his Leh/Ladakh trip on a motorcycle. He gained maximum popularity when he shared the vlog of his trip from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

Now, apart from travel vlogs, he is also a lifestyle influencer and at the tender age of 33, he owns a clothing line.

  1. Abhishek Upmanyu

Aur bhai, aa gaya swad!
Main kya karu phir? Job chhod du?
Yahi baatein to baad mein yaad aayengi

You must have heard or used some of these lines in memes and even in normal conversations as well. The credit for these lines goes to a famous stand-up comedian Abhishek Upmanyu. Unlike all other stand-up comedians popular on YouTube, he has got some skills which make him different from others.

We make innovative jokes, he delivers them in an interesting way and we relate to him. That's the reason why he has got popularity which gave him 2nd rank in the list.

  1. Komal Pandey

If there is a woman who has revolutionised fashion in India for Gen Z, she absolutely is no one other than Komal Pandey. Extremely popular on the Internet not just for her fashion but also for her great choice of songs.

She puts a lot of effort into outfits, accessories, styling, and song selection and then making videos. She can flaunt any fashion be it fusion, the street-style, rich classy looks or traditional ethnic looks.

Starting as a fashion influencer and a part of short videos on YouTube, she has achieved a lot. And she owns all the credit for her achievements herself.

Her loyal fan following, engagement, reach and growth of the channel helped her grab the third position in the list of Forbes India.

  1. Mohammad Salim Khan

Known as MSK popularly, he is a Mumbai-based content creator with a massive digital influence. Initially came on YouTube to improve his acting skills, but in 2019 he sidelined acting and accepted content creation as his main career.

Basically, he is a travel vlogger who is passionate about bikes. Within a very less time, he managed to get a huge number of subscribers on YouTube and also get followers on Instagram.

He is very consistent with his videos and he is a dreamer and an achiever and I think that's what motivates him towards working hard every day. And that is why he owns the 4th position on the list.

  1. Anmol Jaiswal

With the social media handle Indian Backpacker, Anmol makes videos on video games, lifestyle, travel and automobiles. While many are unable to handle one channel, he owns five channels of his own on YouTube out of which three are still active.

He converted his passion into his profession and that's why he is able to own this fan following. And that's the reason he was given the 5th rank on the list.

Nirmal Pillai, Shlok Srivastav, Saurabh Ghadge, Beebom and Sujith Bhakthan are the next five creators on the list. They all also have their own reasons for being in the top positions. But the most important reason is hard work.

Their consistency, frequency of videos, writing of content, performance- everything matters when it comes to their popularity.
