How Pollution Is a Challenging Problem in Delhi

In Delhi, one of the biggest problems that the people of Delhi face is pollution. It is a very serious issue not even in Delhi but all over India Delhi is the main epicenter of Pollution for many years. The month of November-February is the peak time for pollution in Delhi.

The AQI(Air Quality Index) of Delhi is in the very poor category, in peak time it even crosses the mark of 700 to 800 which comes in the severe category.

The people of Delhi face a lot of problems due to the pollution, children and old people were the main patients due to this issue which comes every year in Delhi and affected many lives.

There is a study states that due to pollution, the life of average people who live in Delhi has been reduced to 10 years. Due to pollution, people also face various diseases like Asthma and lung infection.

Causes of Air Pollution in Delhi

There are very reasons that cause pollution in Delhi, and one of the biggest causes is the gases that come from the factories and mills. Another reason for the cause of pollution is the dust which comes inside the vehicles.

Other causes include wood-burning fires, cow dung cake combustion, fires on agricultural land, exhaust from diesel generators, dust from construction sites, burning garbage, and illegal industrial activities in Delhi.

The crackers which were used in the festival of Diwali have also caused pollution. The next day when Diwali gets over, there were garbages crackers, and the level of pollution is gone too high which causes severe problems for those people who were going their work.

After Diwali, pollution is the big headline of every News Channel and Newspaper. Every year, the problem of pollution is seen in Delhi. There is a white sheet shown in the atmosphere of Delhi.

All over India, Pollution is one of the biggest problems. Out of 100 polluted cities in the world, almost 90 percent cities were in India and Delhi is the most polluted city in the World.

Covid and Pollution are two major problems which Delhi’s people.

For almost two years, Delhi is fighting two major problems related to the health of people. The first is the covid-19 and the second one is pollution. There is a very common thing between these two problems, they are attacking the people’s lungs which lead them difficult to breathe.

Effects of Air Pollution

The major effect of pollution is Global Warming which is also the biggest problem in today’s world. Due to the emissions of Greenhouse gases, there is an imbalance in the gaseous components in the air. This has led to an increase in the temperature of Earth.

The burning of fossil fuels releases harmful gases such as Nitron Oxide and Sulphur dioxide in the air. The water droplets combine with these pollutants, become acidic, and fall as acid which damages humans and animals.

The air pollutants suspend in the water bodies affect aquatic life. Pollution also compels the animals to leave their habitat and shift to a new place.

The solution to this problem

The thing that we should solve the problem of pollution is to use cloth bags instead of plastic because it is also the reason causing pollution. People should not use crackers on Diwali and celebrate eco-friendly Diwali without crackers.

And people should not use their own vehicles to travel a short distance, instead, they can walk and they also use public transport for traveling and also they do not use those things which can cause pollution.

Government should also take the problem of pollution very seriously and make policies and take action against those factories in which harmful gases were produced because the effect of pollution in Delhi and all over India is a serious issue.

The government should also promote electric cars and public transport which do not reduce the harmful games and will work through electricity. Recently, the Delhi government has introduced electric buses into the highways to reduce the level of pollution.

These were the solutions that people and the government can do to stop the dangerous effects of pollution all over the country.
