Shikha - Stay Positive In Every Situation (Influencer From India)

All I can say is - Be you! Content infused with consistency is the Queen.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I hail from a casual joint household in Bihar. Nobody in my family is in the field of social media other than I. I’ve lived half my life in Bihar, a few years in Benaras and then I’ve been living in Delhi for the past 6 years. I started out for fun during the lockdown and gradually it turned out into my career.

2. What led you to start your page on Instagram?

During the lockdown, I was stuck at home and like everybody else didn’t have really much to do hence started making videos for fun on Instagram.

3. Do you think that there will be a new style statement or fashion obsession with the new normal? If so what would be your choice and why?

I think yes, there's no doubt in that we can make a new style statement accordingly. For instance, if you remember there were some gorgeously crafted face masks in the COVID too.

4. Is it financially sustainable to be a fashion blogger today?

Yes. I belong to a middle-class family. In the starting, I didn't invest much. I used to shop from Sarojini. And would style that one piece of clothing in 10 different ways!

Even during the pandemic, all my clothes were in Delhi and my equipment was too. I continued to shoot content with my mobile and my mom's clothes!

5. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

My idea of success is just me living a happy life, surrounded by people that I love, and having the freedom to do what I love. And that is making videos.

6. Who is your favourite fashion blogger and why?

Komal Pandey, she's my inspiration I started out because of her. Her style is not wearable but I love her confidence and everything about her.

7. Do you have any tips for people who want to join this field?

All I can say is - Be you! Content infused with consistency is the Queen!

8. Which is your favourite book and why?

Nothing much has changed when it comes to the habit of reading, although I’m trying to develop a habit of the same.
