Talha Bhatti

I would say that every student should work in the industry for at least a year because that way you understand how things actually work in a professional environment. I did a job for a while but no internship.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

As a child, I was really into drawing and colors but I never knew it could become a full-time career as well. Later on, I got to know about Photoshop and that is the first tool I learned as a designer.

2. When and how did you choose to be a graphic designer?

In my Bachelors, there was a course for HTML and CSS. I didn't like a coding part but CSS really intrigued me as it involved working with fonts and colors and design etc.

3. What is the role and scope of work for a graphic designer?

In today's world, graphic design is the most demanded skill on the internet because every business needs it.

4. What are some of the tools & software that a graphic designer must be aware of?

It all depends upon what kind of designs you want to make but some of the basics once which I think are necessary for every designer are Photoshop and Illustrator. And if you are into UI/UX, Figma and Adobe XD are a must.

5. How in your opinion has this profession changed over the years?

It has changed a lot. The world has started to understand how much difference a designer can make for a business.

6. Do you often have to keep upskilling yourself in this field?

Yes. I always keep on learning new tools because they keep on getting updates every year.

7. How can one develop a keen sense of design and aesthetics?

By observing the world around you. God is the best designer. There is design all around us. You just need to look.

8. How do you help brands to make a visual impact?

Designing is all about solving a problem. That problem could be exposure, sales, etc. I make sure I solve that problem for my clients.

9. What is an illustrator instructor?

Someone who teaches about illustrations and how to make them.

10. What are your views on internships? Did you do internships in your college?

I would say that every student should work in the industry for at least a year because that way you understand how things actually work in a professional environment. I did a job for a while but no internship.

11. Does one need some prerequisite skills before entering into this field or anyone can learn graphic designing?

No. All you need is a simple laptop, an internet connection, and the will to learn.

12. What advice/tips would you like to give to future graphic designers?

Make at least one design every single day.
