Dry and Frizzy Hair Care Routine for Winters Using Products Under 500 in 2022

In the winter, our scalp loses a lot of moisture, which causes it to become dry and contributes to severe hair loss. Dry hair and a dry scalp can cause breakage, hair thinning, frizz, and hair loss. It also leads to dandruff, which makes your scalp feel dry and itchy.

Great hair is a core part of our beauty. And the key to healthy hair is a healthy scalp. While long and thick hair is the ultimate beauty goal, we need a healthy scalp to get the best results. For this, we need to be patient and consistent in our hair care routine.

In this blog, you will find a hair care routine you can follow this winter to reduce hair fall, frizz, and hair damage.

Pre-shampoo Mask

After brushing your hair in the morning, use a pre-shampoo mask. It's easy. Here are 3 simple pre-shampoo masks.

1. Mix your favourite hair oil with 2 to 3 spoons of aloe vera gel and apply it on your scalp. This hair mask will condition your hair and soften your hair follicles. You can also use a hot towel and cover your hair for 30 minutes for this mask to get the best results.

2. You can also use yoghurt or curd with a few drops of lemon juice for your pre-shampoo mask. Yoghurt will make your hair very soft and shiny.

3. Using Onion juice on your scalp is effective for faster hair growth. Cut 2 onions and grind them. Using a muslin cloth, extract the raw onion juice and apply it only on your scalp. Leave it for 30 minutes for better results.

For a pre-shampoo mask, you can use Parachute Coconut Hair Oil, Mamaearth’s Onion Hair Oil, or any cold-pressed oil. For Aloe Vera gel, if you can find it, use fresh aloe from leaves. Otherwise, WOW Skin Science Aloe Vera Gel, Mamaearth Aloe Vera Gel, and the Moms Co. Multi-purpose Natural Aloe Vera Gel works best.

Shampoo

You can shampoo your hair after keeping your mask for 30 minutes. The shampoo you use must be ideal for your hair type. You don't need to use organic shampoo. Depending on your hair type, use shampoo with no parabens and sulphates.

Here are some shampoos that you can go for:

1. The Mom's Co. Natural Protein Shampoo for non-oily scalp

2. L'Oréal Paris Extraordinary Clay Shampoo for oily scalp and dry ends

3. Matrix Opti Care Smooth Straight Professional Shampoo with Shea Butter for ultra-smooth hair. It's also paraben-free, de-frizzes your hair, and adds shine.

4. Matrix Biolage Smoothproof Smoothing Shampoo. This one adds a lot of volume to your hair and removes any build-up on your scalp.

5. Mamaearth Onion Shampoo is my favourite.

Conditioner

Since winter is coming, you must condition your hair. Winters make our hair dry, and conditioners can help fight against frizz. Use a deep conditioner for your hair in the winter and apply it on damp, not wet hair for 5 to 10 minutes. Always wash off your conditioner with cold water to reduce frizz.

List of conditioners you definitely need this winter:

1. Matrix Opti Care Smooth Straight Professional Conditioner with Shea Butter.

2. L'Oréal Paris Extraordinary Oil smooth Conditioner is paraben free. Do get it on a discount since it's a bit expensive.

3. Love Beauty & Planet Argan Oil and Lavender Paraben conditioner

4. Mamaearth Onion Hair Conditioner is also a good option.

Hair Mask

On days when you have extra time, try to use a hair mask instead of a conditioner. A hair mask gives the ultimate nourishment that your hair needs. It tames your frizz and deeply conditions your hair, especially in the winter.

Some best hair masks to get your hands on are:

1. Tresemme Keratin Smooth Deep Conditioning Mask

2. Plum Avocado Nourish-Up Hair Mask

3. Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Deep Conditioner

4. Wish Care Rice Water Hair Mask

5. Pilgrim Argan Hair Oil Hair Mask

6. Mamaearth Onion Hair Mask

7. Mamaearth Agran Hair Mask

Heat Protectant/ Leave-in Conditioner

If you are someone who frequently straighteners or curlers their hair, you should not skip a heat protectant. You can also use a leave-in conditioner as it also acts against frizz.

One of the best leave-in conditioners that act as a heat protectant is L'Oréal Paris No Haircut Cream. It makes your hair smooth and removes tangles without much hair breakage. I have used this only twice but trust me, it gets the job done.

Hair Serum

For post-styling frizz, you can use any hair serum. Hair Serums also smoothen our leftover frizz, soften the hair, and add shine to it.

Some of the best hair serums out there:

1. Streax Hair Serum with Walnut Hair Oil

2. Streax Professional Vitariche Gloss Hair serum

3. Livon Hair Serum

4. Matrix Biolage hair serum is a very good
