I keep upskilling myself every day by just a small yet consistent habit that I make sure that I learn one new thing daily. And that's how I became so good at what I've been doing. I also used to follow mentors sincerely but always tried adding my touch and uniqueness to things and I think that's what people liked that I've been what I am rather than being pretentious about becoming someone I am not.
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
So basically I have been a very bright child since childhood itself and a topper always, a girl who belongs to a simple middle-class family. I always knew that I wanted to achieve extraordinary things in life and always strived to be a perfectionist by nature.
I did my senior schooling from PCB sci background and right after my 12th, I started teaching tuition along with my college not because I needed to earn but only because of the ambitions and dreams I had for doing things for my family as my parents raised me from a million hardships and worst times so I just wanted to give them a life they've always deserved but they lost even their basic existing needs always compromising to raise me including taking no offs or vacations ever.
1 year went well with a lot of struggle managing all my tuition and college together, having sleepless nights, skipping meals just to teach extra tuition to save more bucks and give my parents a vacation trip on their anniversary. But life had different plans for me, just when everything was perfect and I was going to give them a surprise, life surprised me with the intro of the corona to the world. All my hard-earned money went in vain and the whole world collapsed.
I couldn't recover from the trauma of shattered dreams, to get off from my mind those urges to see my parents smile and be happy and to enjoy their life. Nothing seemed alright, I fell into severe depression and tried hurting myself because it was a lot to take in. Then something inside me kept telling me that I should not give up and then after a few months.
2. Where did you find out about Affiliate marketing and what's the journey behind it?
I started brainstorming again and found a good opportunity online to learn some new skills like Affiliate Marketing and monetize them. I had a hope of recovering the huge amount I lost. I worked round the clock and very soon life turned 360°, I started making money through what I learnt, and along the way, I inspired people with my work and also started contributing to the welfare of fewer fortunate.
My income and fame rose exponentially and ever since then there has been no stepping back. A science student turned Entrepreneur and made 4.5 Million in 2 years being just 19 years old back then. What I started as an escape from the trauma and depression turned out to be the biggest blessing and never have I ever looked back once.
There have been both ups and downs in my journey but it's not the destination that motivated me, it was the journey of who I was becoming every day, with hard work and helping thousands of others with the best intentions to earn a living for themselves and support their families in need during the heart-wrenching pandemic.
And I did so many more things for my family not just a trip after all this. I feel very proud that even after life knocked me down I gave myself one more chance and didn't sit back and wait for things to happen themselves. I made them happen and that's what everyone can do.
3. How are you able to manage college with your work?
It was super messy to manage so many things at once for sure honestly but when you have will you have a way. I used to utilise, every few mins of break I used to get in between lectures for doing my work. I made sure that I used every spare minute to work rather than to chill or waste time because I realised that it would only be my sacrifices that would count and decide at the end who Paridhi will be in the coming years and what would life look like like like like like for me.
This thought kept me going always. Along with being an academic topper even in college, I have been an all-rounder. I participated in every activity or competition and won laurels too specifically the major ones in the art side like painting, poster/collage making etc.
Being occupied all day felt good because at this age it's very easy to fall prey to the wrong stuff and doings like my classmates and others of the same age but rather all this I was earning a handsome amount and saved a lot for my future education to lift the weight on my parent's shoulders.
4. What are your career goals and how is it aligned with your current work?
So my career goal as of now is that I am already preparing for my MBA entrance this year and building my brand is the ultimate goal after my PG. Right now as well I am into marketing and sales and hence I am looking forward to doing MBA in the same segment as I've gained a lot of practical knowledge and exposure that people of my age would surely not have. Thus I am looking forward to more exposure and learning deeply about the functioning of the corporate sector.
5. What are the top skills that you have learnt with what you do?
With whatever I've done till now, My top skills would be leadership skills, objection handling, communication skills, affiliate marketing, relation building, etc.
6. What challenges did you face when starting your career in finance and marketing and then establishing a social media presence?
Since I was not from a commerce background, I had to struggle a bit to understand even very basic concepts like GST and taxes in the beginning but it got better with time and I am really glad about it that now I am 110 times smarter than old Paridhi was and it wouldn't have been like this if I would not have started and just took formal education.
Secondly establishing a social media presence was a big task because back then there were no reels or anything. So definitely a lot of people mocked and said very hurtful things, but I always kept my intentions right and to help only and that's how after a couple of weeks things started becoming better and then the best for sure. I kept improving myself bit by bit every day and then I think when I was ready, then things started going well. I always enjoyed learning and never was irritated feeling that I don't know all this and it won't be my cup of tea ever. I always kept the attitude that I can learn anything and that's what got me here
7. How do you upskill yourself?
I keep upskilling myself every day by just a small yet consistent habit that I make sure that I learn one new thing daily. And that's how I became so good at what I've been doing. I also used to follow mentors sincerely but always tried adding my touch and uniqueness to things and I think that's what people liked that I've been what I am rather than being pretentious about becoming someone I am not.
No matter whether anyone liked me or not, I've always kept my true self first and foremost. This is the biggest reason to have to build a network of very genuine people and form an amazing second family. I also read multiple books and I make sure I don't skip or neglect my formal education as well. So the best personality according to me is having a mixture of knowledge from all dimensions and that's what I've been striving for and will always do.
8. What mistakes do people usually make in this and what would you suggest to them?
Well according to me the biggest mistake that people do is when they are stepping into something online be it any platform or any type of work either they don't do the research thoroughly enough and get trapped in scams and then believe that everyone out there is same which is not or people get influenced by the sick mentality of few people who just don't know anything about a particular opportunity but just have a negative perception and the person gets brainwashed easily.
Thus the biggest mistake that should be avoided is, first research what you are getting yourself into, secondly, listen to those who are doing great in that field and take suggestions or advice from them rather than getting influenced by random people. Using one's brain and common sense is what most people lack and therefore even after so many good opportunities are their people keep complaining about the lack of finances and work offers.
Also, the majority of people seek to get-rich-quick schemes, I can bet on it that there is no such scheme that exists which can make money easily. Money never comes easy my friend. It always comes from hard work, so don't be afraid to invest in yourself, learn skills and become a more skilled person which will surely reap you good profits but doesn't fall for investments giving you a guarantee of becoming rich or giving you a handsome amount without you doing anything.
Always just try to learn something new and then monetize that skill. It will be an investment for a lifetime because money can come and go for sure but nobody can snatch or take away your skills and what you've learned so far. It will be with you always and thus the profits would be!
