Generally, people's lifestyle in summer differs from one region to another region in the world. Not all countries have the same amount of heat. Especially in India, Indians don't like to travel much during the summer season, particularly here there isn't any summer shopping that plays a vital role.
Before summer starts, Summer always opens the rule for new advertisements for summer-related products especially in India like Ads for AC, fridges, Cool drinks, Sunscreen, Sunlight protection paints, etc.
Few of us could offer to buy AC, some other people buy mobile cooling products or plan vacations to beat the summer. But many of us cannot afford to have AC or other cooling products in our homes. Additionally, power cuts also add to the woes.
Most Indians nowadays refuse to go for a trip during the summer season. In such a case, what can be done to keep our house cool in summer? Summer shopping sales are just a year's gimmick, it is only for people who live in cold countries but for us getting out in the sun is the biggest challenge in summer. Some of the tips to follow to keep ourselves and our houses cool are,
Use Dark Window Curtains
Using thick dark window curtains could prevent sun rays inside our home and prevent the room from becoming hot and raise in temperature.
Placing Vessels Filled With Water
Placing vessels filled with water in multiple places like near open windows would make the room chill and reduce the heat entering the houses. In the early days, we used to fill our houses with water to ensure that the room was cool during summer. But now we can’t do that as our rooms are filled with curtains, etc.
Fill Bathroom Buckets with Water And Keep The Doors Open
Earlier bathrooms were built separately from the houses. But, nowadays, houses are being built with attached bathrooms. In that case, fill the bathroom with water and leave the bathroom door open which would let the cool air inside the house.
Avoid Using Refrigerator
While in summer, most of us use cool drinks to keep our bodies cool. So, the fridge has the maximum contribution on summer days. Often switching on the refrigerator would emit a higher amount of heat into our house. It applies to all the devices in our home such as electronic devices.
Avoid Switching On the Electronic Devices
Don’t keep devices like TV charging units ON all the time. Switch off or disconnect power after usage. The usage of electricity is equally proportional to the amount of heat released in the room. We could reduce the temperature of the room a little by this action.
Use LED Lights
Using LED lights not only saves electricity, but these slides also don’t heat the room like other bulbs. Changing the lighting could help you in keeping the room cool.
Avoid Charging Your Phone Often
As our phone recharge cycle becomes more than our earth cycle. We tend to produce more heat in our houses so you have to use your phone list to ensure that your room is chill.
Choose The Perfect Outfit
The choice of dresses plays a major role here in avoiding sweatshirts.
Wear Cotton Clothes
Wearing cotton clothes in summer is best to beat the summer. Also, we can prevent the heat that affects our private parts by wearing light cotton clothes at home and also not wearing underwear at home would help in the efficient release of heat from our body and reduce body temperature. In Egypt, they keep wet bed sheets under a dry bed sheet to make their bed in the room chill while sleeping.
Keep Hydrated
Hydration is one of the most important ways to keep us cool. Increasing the intake of fluids like water, tender coconut, buttermilk or Millet porridge would help us keep hydrated. Highly rated ourselves with natural liquids is always better than drinking cool drinks in summer.
Eat Fresh Fruits And Vegetables
Increased intake of seasonal fruits and vegetables is the best way to keep ourselves healthy in summer. Instead of drinking mango juice, it’s always best to eat the fruit directly.
Plant More Trees
Planting more trees around the house can prevent your house from hitting the sun's rays directly into the house.
