During the first semester of college, I realised that coding is not my cup of tea. Since then, I started exploring different fields and tried hands on different skills. My only advice to students is to do things that you enjoy doing rather than forcing yourself on tasks that society expects you to do. And at last, be consistent in whatever you do.
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
Born in Delhi, went to Greenfields public school Delhi till
10th. After the 10th went to Kota for jee preparation. Cleared jee and got
admission at IIIT Vadodara B.Tech. IT branch. Started my YouTube Channel in
August 2019 when I was in my first semester of college.
2. When did you first decide
that you wanted to create content and how did you start?
We were 4 roommates and many times I used to discuss my Kota
journey and learnings with them. One day after they got frustrated with the
‘gyaan’, they replied to me “Bhai humara to JEE crack ho chuka hai, why don’t
you go and share your experiences with those who need it via videos on YouTube”.
This gave me an idea to start an educational YouTube channel to help students
in need.
3. Is vlogging and YouTube content
creation a financially sustainable career? If yes, then to what degree?
It is better to start at a smaller scale side by side and once
it is pickup and starts generating revenue then one can focus on it full time.
At the beginning, there are lots of hits and trials so it is better to keep a
safety net.
4. How did you manage your
studies, YouTube, and personal life? How were you socially or did you just
focus on your work?
It is tough initially to manage but later it became my flare to
manage my work. I used to complete college studies on weekdays and during
weekends I used to work on my script and videos. Gradually I became accustomed
to a tight schedule and it became easier to manage my work. And now we have a
team which handles different tasks which make it easier for me to manage my
studies, YouTube, and personal life.
5. What was your biggest
source of motivation at that time when you just started with YouTube and you
didn't see any results?
I too felt down sometimes but having an encouraging friend
circle in college helped me in overcoming self-doubt.
6. What was the 1st video
that went viral and how did you react?
This was a video regarding English tips and tricks for board
exams. In this video, I explained minor errors where students commit silly
mistakes and their marks get deducted. This was a kind of unique video which
hadn't been uploaded before and it went viral.
7. When and how did you
realise that you want to do something different? What advice would you give to
school and college students about finding their path?
During the first semester of college, I realised that coding is
not my cup of tea. Since then, I started exploring different fields and tried
hands on different skills.
My only advice to students is to do things that you enjoy doing rather than forcing yourself on tasks that society expects you to do. And at last, be consistent in whatever you do.
8. When and how did you start
with seminars? How many have you done?
We recently started an all-India tour covering many cities;
these were the first series of seminars where we interacted with young crowds
across India. In total, we did around 11 seminars. Later we also conducted
various seminars including renowned TedX and Josh talks.
