6 Best Short Animes You Can Binge Watch

If you are in the mood to binge-watch something here are some short best anime for you. Anime is mainly Japan-based series in an animated style. It grabs the attention of all age groups from children to adults. The best part about short anime is that it can portray a beautiful story in a limited time.

Violet Evergarden(2018)

Violet Evergarden is a light novel series written by Kana Akatsuki and illustrated by Akiko Takase.  It consists of 13 episodes and 1 movie each episode being nearly about 24 minutes.

The story follows Violet Evergarden, a young pretty girl who was an ex-soldier under Gilbert’s(Captain of the troop) command. Later after the war came to an end, she was left with only words from the person she was the closest to, but with no understanding of those words. 

She was employed at a postal office where she used to write letters for people who could not express their feelings through words. What makes Violet Evergarden special is the way it shows the journey of how she understood the meaning of those words and her true self. It takes the viewers on an emotional rollercoaster ride and also teaches the value of self-discovery.

Horimiya(2021)

Horimiya is a Japanese shonen web manga series written and illustrated by Hiroki Adachi. It consists of 13 episodes, each episode being nearly 23 minutes.

Horimiya is an anime that cheers up your mood. It is a high school romance with the characters Kyouko Hori and Izumi Miyamura. Hori is a beautiful and popular girl with lots of friends whereas Miyamura is an introvert with a hidden personality. 

Due to some events, they started spending time together and slowly got to know each other’s hidden personalities which made them fall in love with each other leaving their friends speechless. These 13 episodes beautifully depict how these two young and opposite personalities fall in love and make one of the best couples in anime history. 

Given(2019)

Given is an anime adaptation of its manga written and illustrated by Natsuki Kizu. It has 11 episodes and 1 movie in total.

Mafuyu Satou holding a wrecked guitar but does not know how to play it meets Ritsuka Uenoyama at his high school staircase. Uenoyama fixes his guitar and after seeing his knowledge of the guitar, Satuo pleads with him to teach guitar. After requesting a lot Uenoyama finally agrees and invites him to a jam session where he meets other two bandmates: Haruki Nakayama and Akihiko Kaji.

While performing with the band Uenoyama notices Satou’s amazing vocal quality and asks him to be the lead singer.

The best part of this anime is its high school boys' romance. All different characters tell different stories. Its songs of it are famous for their painful lyrics and music. This anime is wholesome and teaches us how to handle grief.

Golden Boy(1995)

Golden Boy is a Japanese comedy manga written and illustrated by Tatsuya Egawa. It has 6 episodes in all.Kintarou Oe is a 25-year-old freeter who roams from town to town in Japan in search of employment. While finding employment he experiences many adventures and gains knowledge of the practical world. 

He left Tokyo University without graduating. Kintaro meets several women while traveling. He observes people and situations around him and notes them down in his notebook. This anime will let you know what life would be like if you just free yourself and do what you like. Conceptually, it is a good anime to watch if you are looking for some fun.

My Dress Up Darling(2022)

My Dress Up Darling is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda. It has 12 episodes for now and is expected to have more in the future. Wakana Gojou is a high schooler and also a loner. He devoted his soul and time to making Hina dolls. Marin Kitagawa, the most popular girl in his school, shares her cosplaying secret with him. She wants him to sew cosplay outfits for her. He now spends all his time making outfits for her.

These 12 episodes will tell you how these two different poles spend time together in the name of work but develop personal feelings.

This is a wholesome romance anime with some boldness and comedy. Also the female main character Marin Kitagawa is pretty famous and admired for her daring and bold looks.

Erased(2016)

Erased is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kei Sanbe.

It has 12 episodes in total. Satoru Fujinuma can travel back in time whenever a tragedy occurs. He is sent back 18 years to prevent events leading to his mother's death. 

Soon he realizes the murder might be related to the killing of one of his classmates Kayo Hinazuki. Erased follows Satoru on a mission to have his classmate and prevent some events that took part in the past.

This anime has an unexpected ending. It is worth watching as its storyline is pretty good and also a little depressing.
