He has also worked towards improving infrastructure, connectivity, and ease of doing business in India, attracting foreign investment, and promoting tourism. Modi tends to make India a developed country in the next 25 years. Let’s have a look at some of his well-appreciated programs.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan

Everybody talked about clean India but the one whose words affected the most was Narendra Modi. It was his victory speech on May 16th, 2014 where he announced the Swachh Bharat Campaign for the first time. Officially the program was launched on 2nd October 2014.

The most impact of this campaign is on the school children, which will eventually lead to a better generation. Seven years after the implementation of this scheme India is open defecation-free, homes have toilets, houses have access to drinkable water and our cities are getting clearer each day.

At present, this mission has seen participation from 51,344 people. Also, 603175 villages in the country have declared themselves Open to Defecation Free as of October 2, 2019. Indore sets the best example for all Indians by being the cleanest city in India.

Modi has also swept roads to motivate people. Moreover, he washed the feet of five sanitation workers as a token of appreciation for their hard work. Well, this is the first PM to do humble and noble work to such an extent.

 Namami Gange Programme

The Ganga is India’s longest river, flowing 1,569 miles (2,525 kilometers) from the Himalayan Mountains to the Bay of Bengal. The river has the world’s second-highest water discharge, and its basin is the world’s most densely populated because it hosts more than 40% of the country’s population.

River Ganga is holy for all Indians but unfortunately, it is suffering from heavy water pollution. PM Modi has taken major steps to clean the Ganga. This project was launched in June 2014 and since then out of 152 sewerage infrastructure projects, 46 projects are completed, 75 projects are in progress and 31 projects are at various stages of tendering.

There’s been a considerable difference in the water quality of the Ganga in the last 4 years. India). The government said they had never seen such clean water in River Ganga during Kumbh in the past.

 Make in India

On 25th September 2014, the Make in India program gave corporations a push to invest money in manufacturing products in India. The rise in automobile production increased by 2.60%, and various products manufactured in India like HAL Tejas Light combat aircraft by sourcing 95% of the resources required locally.

It resulted in a boost of research and development, ensuring quality products, creating skill-based jobs, and also providing job opportunities to backward classes. He successfully reached out to the world with his Make in India idea.

Jan Dhan Yojana

The Jan Dhan Yojana was launched in August 2014 with the motive of providing credit facilities, pension facilities, insurance facilities, and mainly zero balance account facilities to every household in India.

As per the data of the Finance Ministry, a total of 44.23 Jan Dhan accounts have been opened till December 2021. This yojana was a big success and also helped several people, particularly poor people, to save money.

 Ayushman Bharat

Ayushman Bharat is a health insurance scheme launched by PM Modi on September 23, 2018. The motive of this scheme is to provide health coverage of a sum of 5 lakh rupees each every year to all the beneficiary families. It aims to cover over 10 poor crore families.

Till April 2021, 75,532 Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres were made operational, and 44.24 crore people got treated there. India is successfully making it possible for all people to get treated cost-effectively.

Mann ki Baat

Mann ki Baat is another big initiative by PM Modi. It is a radio talk show where PM Modi interacts with the general public about current issues and asks for their opinions and views.

This is one of the best ways to know what people think about his doings and what more needs to be done for betterment. It is airing officially on All India Radio. Till today, a total of 88 episodes have been broadcasted and people’s participation is to the fullest.

Despite all the political arguments, it is pretty visible how much PM Modi has done and achieved for India making him one of the most admirable Prime Ministers of India in recent years.

It is not that other Prime Ministers did not try to make changes but the major difference is the influencing power of PM Modi. Most of his programs were successful because people followed him. Well, this shows how great of a leader Modi is and we all expect him to attain a developed India in near future.
