As a try to make my little sister love to read, I sit with her to read Coraline but just as expected she got bored only after one chapter and I finished reading the book alone. I finished it in a very short time.

Is Coraline Worth Reading?

Yes, Coraline book is a very fun book, I enjoyed reading it. It is a wonderful book full of adventure and mystery. I think that both children and adults will enjoy reading it. The book also has great ratings on good reads with 258,970 people giving it 5 stars.

It was not scary for me, but I think it may be scary for little children.

Summary

With her parents, Coraline Jones relocates to a new flat. Coraline, a nine-year-old girl who is curious and adventurous, rapidly gets bored in her new home, even though she has some odd neighbors to keep her company.

On a rainy day, Coraline notices a mysterious door that leads to a brick wall. The next day, the brick wall mysteriously disappears, and the door opens to a sinister passageway. When Coraline investigates it, she discovers a parallel universe that is a mirror version of the one she had just left behind on the other side.

She discovers another version of her new house that is occupied by different versions of her parents who refer to themselves as her "Other Mother" and "Other Father."

Coraline discovers that her real parents are missing when she gets home from the parallel universe. She makes the decision to return to the other world and search for them.

As she fights the terrible Other Mother, Coraline embarks on several heroic adventures in the other realm. Through these events, she ultimately learns about the immense strength she possesses.

Coraline: Book VS Movie Adaption

I think that the Coraline movie is known more than the book. It is not because the movie is better it is just because we love visualizations.

There are many differences between the book and the movie, such as-

Compared to how they appear in the film, Coraline's parents are much friendlier. The way that Coraline's parents are portrayed in the film makes more sense because Coraline is motivated to prefer the other world by her cruel parents.

In the movie, there is a character who does not appear in the novel. Wybie is his name, Wybie Plays an Important Role in the Film's Ending. The endings are different. While in the book, Coraline sets up a sort of tea party on top of the well since she already knows that the Beldam's hand has entered her realm and wants to catch it.

Wybie assists Coraline in getting rid of the hand in the well in the movie, but it's more of a reactionary situation.

What a waste for my sister not to read it, right? It is really a lovely book.

Whether you liked the book or the movie more you cannot deny that the story is good from the beginning.
