1. Please tell us something about your early days & career story.

In my early days, I embarked on a career that allowed me to work with prominent corporations like HCL, Citibank, Videocon, and Apple Partner Retail Stores. This experience provided me with diverse skills across various B2C verticals, encompassing retail strategy, operations, sales, profit center management, and market expansion. 

These opportunities shaped my professional journey, fostering a deep understanding of the business world and honing my expertise in driving growth and success within dynamic and competitive markets. 


2. What’s your biggest challenge when it comes to people management?

My biggest challenge in people management is balancing fostering creativity and maintaining a structured work environment. Our brand thrives on innovation and out-of-the-box thinking, so I encourage an open and collaborative culture. I strive to empower our team members to take ownership of their roles while providing guidance and support to achieve our collective goals. 

Additionally, as a sustainable brand, we emphasize ethical practices and social responsibility, so it is essential to cultivate a team that shares our values and aligns with our brand's mission. Effective communication, regular feedback, and providing growth opportunities are essential elements in overcoming this challenge and building a motivated and dedicated team. 


3. What is the best and the worst part of being a CEO?

The best part of being a CEO is the opportunity to drive strategic direction and shape the future of the company. It's incredibly rewarding to witness the collective efforts of the team translating into tangible success and growth. As a CEO, I am constantly inspired by the talented individuals around me, and together, we strive to achieve our shared vision.

However, the role also comes with its challenges. The worst part of being a CEO is the weight of making critical decisions that can have a significant impact on the organization and its stakeholders. Balancing short-term goals with long-term vision requires careful thought and foresight. Additionally, the responsibility for the well-being of the team and ensuring their growth and development can be emotionally taxing at times.

In essence, being a CEO is a dynamic and fulfilling journey that demands a balance of leadership, resilience, and adaptability to navigate both the highs and lows of the role.

 

4. What would you do in your first 30 days as CEO of our organization?

I would primarily focus on a few key areas in my initial days as a CEO. I would comprehensively review the organization's current operations, financial health, and market position. This assessment would help identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement, guiding our strategic decisions. 

Also, I would actively engage with each team member, understanding their roles, aspirations, and concerns. This open dialogue would foster trust and alignment, leading to a more cohesive and motivated workforce. I would collaborate with the team to refine our brand's sustainability strategy and set clear, measurable goals for our environmental and social impact.


5. Which is your favorite book and why?

One of my all-time favorite books is "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho. This profound and captivating novel resonates with me on multiple levels.

Firstly, I am drawn to the book's central theme of following one's dreams and pursuing a personal legend. The protagonist's journey of self-discovery, as he embarks on a quest to find his true purpose and destiny, inspires me to reflect on my own aspirations and passions.

Secondly, the book beautifully captures the power of resilience and the importance of embracing life's uncertainties. The obstacles and challenges faced by the protagonist remind me that life's journey is filled with both triumphs and setbacks, and it is our attitude and determination that shape our path.

Moreover, "The Alchemist" is filled with profound philosophical insights and life lessons. It encourages the reader to look beyond the surface and seek meaning and significance in every experience. The book's timeless wisdom serves as a guiding light during moments of introspection and decision-making.
