Vidushi Singh - Being A True Delhite I Have Tons Of Options To Make Your Mood Go Wow (Food Blogger with 66K+ Followers)

I love North Indian and South Indian cuisines. As being a vegetarian I’m crazy for paneer dishes and tasty South Indian delicacies.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

So I come from a traditional Hindu Family pursuing Bachelors in Journalism and Mass communication.

Currently in the final year of my Master's in Advertising and marketing management at Amity University Noida. I have gained experience in many fields including Human Resources, Assistant Direction, Content Creation, Public relations, Digital Media, and Journalism.

I have gained interest in food blogging during the covid times. Since then I never stopped eating and reviewing. A passionate soul to eat and express my love for new cuisines and dishes.

2. Which is your favorite cuisine and dish?

I love North Indian and South Indian cuisines. As being a vegetarian I’m crazy for paneer dishes and tasty South Indian delicacies.

I love to eat fusion dosas and types of South Indian rice, as they are flavourful and healthy.

3. Should food blogging be just a passion or can it become a regular career?

Talking about the current scenario people are earning a good amount to satisfy their needs and living standards.

And by following their passion people are happy and wealthy. So obviously food blogging is a regular career option nowadays.

4. Which restaurants/food joints would you recommend to food lovers?

Being a true Delhite I have tons of options to make your mood go wow. From street dishes to luxurious cafés there is a variety of food options available here.

For street food, The very famous lanes of Chandni Chowk are the best.  Giani’s di Hatti, kake di hatti, kanwarjis to Old Famous Jalebi Wala to many more options.

For cafés, Social outlets, Cafe Delhi Heights, Honey and Dough, Big chill cafe, Anardana, Karnataka Bhawan, and so on. For more, you can check out my page @droolingdelhi haha.

5. What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?

Generally speaking, I put 5 factors before reviewing.

  • Taste- The taste should be good obviously. I don’t appreciate the silly fusion people make in their dishes so authenticity is important for yummy dishes.
  • Presentation- I generally see the cutlery used and the presentation techniques. How neatly the dishes are presented.
  • Hygiene- This is the major factor for assessing an outlet. The cutlery should be clear and enough sanitary precautions should be there.
  • Good combinations- If we talk about fusion dishes, there should be good combinations to relish. Which helps in enhancing the flavors of both dishes.
  • Overall hospitality and preference- The ambiance, and the vibe should be positive and the overall atmosphere should be pleasant. Obviously being a vegetarian I prefer vegetarian dishes only.

6. Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?

As mentioned above the most favorite and iconic place is “ Karnataka Bhawan” situated in South Delhi near Moti Bagh metro.

This is a hidden gem in Delhi providing authentic South Indian cuisines for years. My go-to place. My favorite item of mine is the “ Mysore Masala Dosa” The chutney, the sambar, and the hospitality with the traditional simple ambiance are amazing!
