Jugraj Singh - Becoming a Full-Time Food Blogger Is Quite an Exciting and Experimental Journey for Me (Blogger With 359K + Followers)

Being in Amritsar, I eat in almost every single restaurant and taste so much street food, so I decided why not promote our Amritsari food to the world, and here I am with the 2nd largest food blogging channel in Punjab

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I was born and raised in Punjab, Amritsar, and have done my graduation from Lovely Professional University (Jalandhar).Becoming a full-time food blogger is quite an exciting and experimental journey for me. I started my journey as a creator in 2018 when I found out about Facebook monetization. Before that, after my graduation in 2016, I got a job at Airtel Payment Bank as a trainee in Vadodra for six months, where I found that this was not the suitable career for me as I was always keen to create something different that could make me financially self-sufficient and also be enjoyable. Then in 2018, I travelled to Mumbai to become an Android developer, where I took classes on a daily basis for 1 year. During my study, I also created a Facebook channel named GYM IS MY LOVE, which was so successful that I got 4.5 million followers in just 8 months.

Then, after that, I dropped my Android developer classes and became a full-time creator on Facebook and Youtube. But due to some reason, that channel got demonetized after 1.5 years, which took me to create another channel, which is a gaming channel on the same platform with the name XCEED GAMING, where I stream live gaming videos.

But after a year, becoming a full-time gamer was not an existing job for me because playing games all day made me bored. Then I came up with the idea of food blogging and created a new channel named FOOD FOUNDER, which I am still doing simultaneously with my gaming career. I am proud to say that this was the best decision in life, and in fact, I got over 1 million viewers (including on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube) in just 1.5 years. The reason behind choosing this particular niche is that, being in Amritsar, I eat in almost every single restaurant and taste so much street food, so I decided why not promote our Amritsari food to the world, and here I am with the 2nd largest food blogging channel in Punjab

2. Which is your favourite cuisine and dish?

Well, there are so many dishes I like the most, but as a Punjabi, Amritsari patty, Kulcha, and Lassi are top on my list.

3. Should food blogging be just a passion, or can it become a regular career?

From my perspective, everything comes with passion. If you do something with passion and it makes you financially successful as well as exciting, you can choose it as a full-time career, whether it’s food blogging or something else.

4. Which restaurants/food joints would you recommend to food lovers?

My all-time favourite restaurant is Amrik Sukhdev in Murthal, Haryana. The way they serve you the prantha with the white butter on it makes it so delicious that no one can stop themselves easily. The second one is Haveli in Jalandhar, where you can not only enjoy food but also walk through the Punjabi culture and cuisines.

5. Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?

From my childhood to this age, my heart has melted for one dish, and that is Panjiri Laddo in Punjabi homestyle. My grandmother used to make panjiri every winter, and it was a nostalgic experience whenever I tried this in my home, especially from my mother’s hand.

6. Which is your favourite book and why?

My Favourite book is Rich Dad Poor Dad which helps me so much in my finances and gives me best ideas how to invest and become successful in life.
