Siddhi Jain - Architect Siddhi Jain Is My Favorite Because I Believe In Being My Own Biggest Cheerleader (Architect/ Interior Designer)

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

Hello, I am architect Siddhi Jain, an architect and interior designer by profession. I coined the term 'archiprinor' for myself, signifying an architectural entrepreneur. Currently, I am working on the architectural planning of residential and commercial buildings, along with interior projects. I completed my B Arts from LTIIDS Navi Mumbai in 2022.

After graduation, I took a much-needed relaxing trip. Entrepreneurship runs in my blood, and despite starting with a job, I realized it wasn't the right fit for me. A disrespectful interview experience became the turning point, pushing me to choose what I truly wanted. The journey hasn't been easy, but choosing myself was the best decision.

2. When and Why Did You Choose This Field?

Growing up around real estate and construction due to my family background, I developed a fascination with architecture. Despite initial skepticism, I enrolled in architecture due to my father's insistence. The journey has been a roller coaster, filled with sleepless nights, model-making, presentations, and discussions. I don't regret choosing this field as it aligns perfectly with my goals. Loving what you do is crucial for a fulfilling life.

3. Do You Have a Dream Project?

Every project is a dream project for me. I find excitement and motivation in each one, seeing it as an opportunity to grow as a designer. Designing my own studio and an office space for my brother are projects close to my heart. A workspace and home are the places where one spends 99% of life, making them significant.

4. How Can One Identify and Appreciate Good Architecture?

Good architecture involves scale, character, visual appeal, functionality, and accessibility. User-centric design and sustainability are crucial aspects. Vastu Shastra should be considered for holistic well-being. Architects should prioritize the end user's happiness and well-being over mere aesthetics.

5. Who Is Your Favorite Architect and Why?

Architect Siddhi Jain is my favorite because I believe in being my own biggest cheerleader. Architect Shantanu Garg is another favorite. His work, blending Indian traditions with luxury design, resonates with me. I aspire to make a similar impact in multiple design fields, as he did.

6. Any Tips for Those Joining This Field?

Choose what you love and what excites you. Don't succumb to external pressures. The internship is a deciding factor, so choose one aligned with your future goals. Challenges will come, but enjoy the process. Commit to the profession and value the learning it brings.

7. What Does a Typical Work Day Look Like?

My work day starts at 10:00 a.m., either in the office or at home, depending on the day's schedule. It involves designing, client meetings, site visits, market surveys, and contractor meetings. Sticking to a schedule is crucial to have time for yourself at the end of the day. Recharging is essential for creativity, even for a fresher in the field.

If you ever come across paths with me, call me Architect Siddhi Jain; I would be happy.
