1. Can you share with us your background and journey, particularly your experiences that have shaped who you are today?I was born in Delhi and have lived in southern India since I was four years old. Now, at the age of 20, I am pursuing my medical studies. Throughout my life, I have been actively engaged in both academics and sports, consistently receiving proficiency awards in elementary, middle, and high school. My parents, who exemplify hard work and a commitment to excellence, have significantly influenced my approach to life.
Inspired by my mother's passion for literature, I began reading and writing at a young age, which led to my role as the magazine head and editor at my boarding school when I was just 14. My involvement in dance, drama, singing, and public speaking from an early age has helped me build a strong sense of confidence.
After middle school, I felt a strong desire to help others and share knowledge. This motivated me to join the Red Cross Foundation and several NGOs across India, where I dedicated 3 to 4 hours daily to teaching and mentoring 30 to 40 students in English. This experience was incredibly fulfilling.
Subsequently, I ventured into content writing and joined a digital newspaper as an intern. Within a year, I advanced to become a team head and editorial head. My passion for inspiring and helping others persisted, prompting my talented younger sister Kamya to suggest that I participate in a beauty pageant with a purpose. I embraced this idea, not for the glamour, but to make a meaningful impact and amplify my voice. This journey led to me being honored with the titles of Miss India Planet North 2022 and Miss Diva with a Purpose 2022.
Additionally, my love for travel has profoundly shaped me, as exploring new places, trying diverse cuisines, interacting with different people, and experiencing various cultures have taught me invaluable life lessons. I am very overwhelmed to recieve the Change Maker Award in 2021 and Inspiration Award 2023 by the Government of India. As I continue my medical studies, I am eager to inspire, assist, and provide for as many people as possible.
2. What inspired you to create your presence on Instagram, and could you tell us more about the themes or topics you focus on?
My Instagram presence was inspired by creators who advocate for health, education, and empowerment. As a medical student, I wanted to contribute to these vital conversations by focusing my content on wellness advice, educational insights, and motivational posts that inspire my audience. Additionally, I incorporate travel posts to provide a refreshing break and showcase diverse experiences, adding a unique dimension to my profile and personal life. I do this on my instagram handle, @mahigupta.8 and @dr.mahigupta
3. In your view, what sets apart a blogger from an influencer, especially in the context of today's digital landscape?
The main difference between bloggers and influencers in today's digital environment is the content creation process and audience engagement. Bloggers focus on long-form, detailed personal or professional websites and directly create the best content for SEO and longevity. Influencers, on the other hand, interact with audiences through various formats such as short videos and social media posts on social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Twitter. They often rely on immediate cooperation measures and business partnerships. While there is some overlap, bloggers emphasize the value of content writing while influencers use a variety of media to enable instant communication. Both play an important role in the digital ecosystem.
4. From your perspective, is pursuing a career as an influencer financially viable in today's market?
According to me, nowadays we are looking for jobs as financial influencers, but their success depends on many factors. Influencers need to build a large, engaged following and create high-quality, high-profile content that attracts engagement and support. The store has many sources of income, including affiliate marketing, product sales, and subscription services. But it is very competitive and constantly changing, requiring influencers to stay current and maintain unity. Financial success in this area requires strategic planning, ongoing content creation, and flexibility.
5. What factors do you believe have the most significant influence on consumer behavior, particularly in the realm of fashion and lifestyle?
Consumer behavior is influenced by cultural and social trends, economic conditions, technological advancement, environmental and ethical considerations, and personal preferences. Social media plays a crucial role in shaping trends, while economic stability and disposable income drive spending.

Consumers prioritize ethical brands because of technological innovations and growing awareness of the environment. Personal identity and psychological factors have a big impact on fashion choices. Businesses need to understand the influences to stay competitive.
6. What personal philosophy or guiding principle do you attribute to your definition of success or your approach to life?
My guiding principle to success has always been encapsulated by Robert Byrne's quote: "The purpose of life is a life of purpose." My personal power lies in the ability to focus intently on my goals, respect my own time and that of others, and maintain an unencumbered mind.
I define success not merely by achievements, but by the ability to learn from experiences, adapt to changes, and persist through challenges. While striving for perfection and excellence can be seen as a flaw, it has often been beneficial in various ways.
Meaningful relationships and a commitment to lifelong learning are particularly important to me. Ultimately, success is about making a positive impact, maintaining integrity, and continually evolving both personally and professionally.
7. Could you offer insights into the journey to becoming a successful social media influencer, especially considering your experiences and achievements?
While I am not a huge influencer, I can provide some insight from my journey and experiences. Success as a social media influencer involves many important elements.
Authenticity is crucial because it involves creating a real connection with your audience by sharing content that reflects your true identity and values. Social media is also important because posting good content regularly helps your audience stay engaged and visible.
Engagement plays an important role in fostering a sense of community by engaging with your followers through messages, comments, and social media. Additionally, it is important to learn and adapt, as knowing the changes and the change process allows you to continue adjusting your ideas to elements that resonate with your target audience.
Networking with other influencers and brands can expand your reach and increase your credibility. Ultimately, success in this field is about creating valuable and valuable content while building and maintaining relationships with your target audience.
8. We'd love to know about your favorite book and what makes it stand out to you. What lessons or inspirations have you drawn from it?
"To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee sticks out for its deep exploration of morality, justice, and human empathy set in opposition to the backdrop of the racially charged American South of the Thirties.
The novel gives valuable training for professionals, emphasizing the importance of integrity, braveness, and upholding ethical requirements, as embodied via Atticus Finch. Scout Finch’s journey underscores the necessity of empathy and understanding in navigating diverse perspectives and fostering inclusivity.
Additionally, the book highlights the unfavourable impact of prejudice and the want to challenge discriminatory practices, advocating for fairness and fairness. It also promotes critical thinking about societal norms and injustices, encouraging continuous evaluation to ensure moral alignment.
In the long run, "To Kill a Mockingbird" conjures up experts to pursue fairness and compassion in all factors in their lives.
