Anandita - Beauty Isn't About Product (Founder Of Blur India)

"Beauty isn’t just about products—it’s about fostering connections, empowering voices, and making a positive impact through mindful, ethical choices."

1. Can you tell us a little about yourself and what initially inspired you to start Blur India?

Blur India began with a simple mission—to create a brand that’s more than just products. We noticed a gap where indie brands lacked a strong, authentic personality and focused purely on sales. Our vision was to build something different: a community-driven brand that’s vegan, cruelty-free, and environmentally conscious. For us, beauty isn’t just about products—it’s about fostering connections, empowering voices, and making a positive impact through mindful, ethical choices.

2. What inspired you to come up with humorous and unique names for your beauty products?

We wanted our products to resonate deeply with our audience by reflecting their values and lifestyle. Today’s consumers, especially younger ones, seek more than just functionality—they crave connection. That’s where our fun, quirky product names come in. They spark conversations, reflect the bold spirit of our audience, and make beauty playful and inclusive. These names aren’t just catchy; they foster a sense of belonging and community.

3. What challenges have you faced in creating content that resonates with your followers and customers?

The biggest challenge has been balancing trends with authenticity. It took time to fine-tune our strategy to align with what truly resonates with our community. We’ve found success through influencer marketing, which has been instrumental in building trust and visibility. Staying relevant means listening to our audience and constantly adapting to the shifting dynamics of social media and consumer behavior.

4. How do you see the future of Blur India evolving amidst the competition?

Our success is rooted in staying true to our core values of innovation, sustainability, and community. After the positive feedback on our fragrances, we’re expanding into body care to redefine self-care. As we grow, we’ll continue focusing on customer feedback, product innovation, and exploring new markets. Competition drives us, but it’s our commitment to conscious, clean beauty that will keep us ahead.

5. What advice would you give to someone looking to know more about Blur India while also building a personal brand?

Be authentic and intentional—whether you’re building a personal brand or a business. Understand your audience, stay connected with them, and deliver value. For those curious about Blur India, dive into our story, try our products, and engage with our community. Building a personal brand is about consistency, trust, and creating something meaningful that reflects who you are.

6. If you could host a dinner with any three beauty personalities, who would they be and what would you discuss?

I’d invite Estée Lauder for her vision, Pat McGrath for her artistry, and Rihanna for her fearless brand-building. Our conversation would revolve around the evolution of beauty—how to stay innovative while being inclusive, the importance of storytelling, and balancing personal identity with business growth.

7. How was your experience bringing Blur India to social media?

The journey wasn’t easy at first. Cracking the right strategy took time, but now we know what works. Influencer collaborations have been pivotal in connecting us with our audience. Our focus is on creating engaging, viral content that sparks conversations and reflects current trends. Social media is not just a platform for us—it’s a space where we shape trends and connect with our community in meaningful ways.

8. Where do you see Blur India in the next five years?

The next five years are going to be exciting. Following the success of our solid perfumes, we’re planning to open physical stores to bring our products closer to customers. We’re also expanding into new categories like face and body care, aiming to create a holistic self-care experience. Our goal is to blend online convenience with the tactile joy of in-store shopping and continue growing with our community by staying innovative and intentional.
