Anushka Sharma - A Journey of Nostalgia, Resilience, and Timeless Stories (Influencer, 87K+ Followers)

"Blogging isn’t just about writing—it’s about creating a space where people from every walk of life can connect, reflect, and find a piece of themselves."

1.Can you tell us a little about your journey into blogging and what inspired you to start?

I have loved old songs ever since I was a young child. My father, Mr. Aditya Sharma, would often sing songs of Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Mohammed Rafi, in front of karaoke and at events with my mother, Mrs. Shuchita Sharma- and as it was meant to happen, I fell head over heels for old classics.

Fast forward to 2015, as a teenager still, I decided to start a community of my own where I could find people who share the same interest in old bollywood as I do.

2. Who inspires you the most?

My grandmother, Mrs. Ramadevi Sharma, who I lovingly call “Bhabhi”. She’s the person I love the most in this entire world. She passed on to the heavenly abode in January this year, and my life hasn’t been the same since.

Solitude and quiet has since been a part of my life, but all the same, I have realised strongly over the months that she hasn’t really gone away from me. Physically that might be the case but spiritually, she’s here with me and will always be. I’m sure she watches me everyday go about my life.

I want to make her extremely proud of me, so that when I meet her upon completion of my own life, I see her smiling the same beautiful smile which, to me, is the prettiest smile in the entire world.

Bhabhi inspires me to do better everyday, in all aspects of life, and will keep doing so because ultimately, she hasn’t really gone anywhere.

3. Your content covers a wide range of topics. How do you decide what to write about next?

Well, that depends on what mood I am in, or what I have come across that day; it could also be a memory from the past that randomly struck me. More often than not, however, it’s mostly when I am quiet and sitting with myself that I get an idea which I find worthy of being put on my page.

Sometimes my younger sister, Ananya, helps me with that, too. (She would smirk reading this lol)

4. Many aspiring bloggers struggle with building an audience. What strategies have worked for you in your terms of growing your readership?

I believe it all comes down to making your content lovable by masses of all age groups. My audience, like I always say, are a great group of intellectuals, but they are not just mature adults but also thoughtful teenagers. My effort mostly is to make content which every one of them can relate to and enjoy.

5. How do you handle writer’s block or days when you’re feeling creatively drained?

Honestly, those days, I just pause for a while and think. This gives me the space to decide what kind of content I need to upload, how I need to present it and what kind of tonality I must give it in terms of emotions.

6. What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the blogging world today?

Just one- don’t lose heart when you don’t gain followers instantly or when you feel that your content is not working. That is bound to happen and happens with everyone starting new.

On those days, you just need to know that this will work out. If not now, then soon in the future. Losing hope will only make you divulge away from consistency.

7. Finally, if your blog could have a theme song, what would it be and why?

I think it would be “Zindagi ek safar hai suhaana” by Kishore Kumar from Andaz (1971). That’s because the thoughts that go into my blog are somehow motivated by this fact- that life is transient. The best way you can make the most of this short life is by doing good for others and being good.

Brief bio:

Hey, this is Anushka Sharma. You must be knowing me because of my blog @theiconicarchives , or probably because we’ve met before! But here’s more to me- I’m an ardent lover of history and culture, preparing for an exam currently "fingers crossed", and learning my way through life- spiritually and realistically.
