Pratika Sood - India's Beauty Lies In It's People (Influencer With 1M+ Followers & Stage Presenter)

"I don’t post for followers—I post for myself. My journey, from 3,000 rupees to 80,000 per show, is a story my audience made possible."

1. Can you tell us about your journey as a stage presenter and social media influencer?

I’ve always loved public speaking. In the latter half of my school years, I discovered that communication was my strength. I competed at state and national levels, consistently taking the top spot. I was even recognized as the Best Speaker by Sheila Dixit for four consecutive years.

Becoming a social media influencer wasn’t part of the plan. I don’t post for followers or fame—it’s my personal journal. Whether I’m traveling, reciting poetry, or hosting a celebrity show, I share moments that matter to me. It’s humbling to see how people connect with my journey—from starting with just 3,000 rupees to now earning 80,000 per show. My audience has been my biggest cheerleader throughout this incredible journey.

2. You’ve traveled to 75 countries and worked with celebrities worldwide. How has this exposure shaped your personal and professional growth?

Traveling has been a lifelong passion, and it’s how I learn the most. I started solo traveling in 2018, exploring beyond tourist hubs to uncover hidden gems—villages, islands, and local cultures. Understanding how people live and what they eat fascinates me, and each experience adds to my personal and professional development.

This exposure has also elevated my career, allowing me to become a global MC, working with renowned celebrities and becoming a recognized name in the industry. It’s been an enriching journey, blending work and personal growth seamlessly.

3. What aspects of Indian culture resonate most with international audiences?

International audiences are captivated by India’s rich traditions and the kindness of its people. What stands out is the hospitality—how even those with limited means generously share what they have. I always tell people to look beyond the surface. India’s heart lies in its people, values, and traditions, and once visitors experience that, they fall in love with the country.

4. Can you share a memorable experience working with Bollywood stars or cricketers?

Each celebrity I’ve worked with has left an impression, but a few stand out. Kapil Sharma is as humble off-stage as he is hilarious on it. Jimmy Shergill is someone I deeply admire—working with him early in my career was a privilege, and his kindness has stuck with me.

Among cricketers, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the most grounded personalities I’ve met. Similarly, Kapil Dev and Suresh Raina are exceptional individuals. Every encounter with these stars has been inspiring, reminding me that even the most successful people remain humble and focused.

5. What were the challenges and rewards of hosting the Indian Association festival in Nigeria?

The festival was an incredible experience, with over 100,000 attendees from both the Nigerian and Indian communities. The event featured meet-and-greet sessions, cultural performances, and a gala night. It was heartwarming to see how people outside India cherish their cultural heritage with such enthusiasm.

I didn’t face any major challenges—everyone was supportive. When you are confident in your craft, things tend to fall into place. The entire experience was smooth and immensely rewarding.

6. Which award or recognition holds the most significance for you and why?

While I’ve received many awards, the greatest reward is the appreciation I receive from my audience. Nothing compares to the feeling of someone telling me they enjoyed a show I hosted and felt a personal connection. That kind of feedback means more to me than any formal recognition. My audience is my true award.

7. How did being a Fashion Nova ambassador impact your career?

After COVID, Fashion Nova approached me to become their brand ambassador in India. I loved working with them because their styles resonate with my personality and body type. However, with my constant travel schedule, it was challenging to meet their deadlines, so I couldn’t continue the partnership.

Nevertheless, the experience was enriching. I still wear their clothes—especially their bikinis and fitted dresses—and I admire how the brand celebrates curvaceous women and body positivity worldwide.

8. What are your future aspirations and upcoming projects?

I believe in living in the moment and going with the flow. For me, every day is exciting—whether I’m making tea, cooking, or hosting a show. I have several international shows and shoots lined up, but I don’t plan too far ahead. Life is about embracing whatever comes your way with enthusiasm.

9. If you could travel anywhere you haven’t been, where would it be and why?

South America is at the top of my travel bucket list. I want to spend six to seven months exploring countries like Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, and Ecuador. I’m drawn to the vibrant lifestyle and energy there. They live life to the fullest, which aligns with my vibe. I wanted to make this trip last year, but work commitments got in the way. I’m hoping to make it happen next year—it’s going to be an incredible adventure.
