Sanam - Social Media Is A Powerful Tool But I Don’t Let It Define Me (Influencer 300k+ Followers)

"Dance allows me to express what words cannot; it’s where my soul finds freedom."

1. How do you overcome challenges through creativity and belief?

I’ve faced so many challenges, but one that stands out is my current injury. It’s been three months, and the last few weeks have been especially tough. In just two days, I’m competing as a guest in one of the biggest breakdance events in Europe—an absolute honor! Normally, I'd stress about not training at 100%, but I’ve learned to accept what’s out of my control. Instead of anxiety, I’ve focused on healing and staying positive. Mindset is everything. Even when things don't go as planned, believing in myself has helped me push forward.

2.  How do you balance cultures German freedom and Indian determination?

I never really thought about it before, but I feel both cultures exist in harmony within me. From Germany, I’ve inherited the freedom to pursue my passion independently—something that would’ve been harder to do in India. But my Indian roots have instilled a strong sense of discipline and hard work. There’s this pressure to excel that fuels me to push harder. I’m also grateful my parents gave me the freedom to follow my path and prove that women can thrive in sports. My journey combines the best of both worlds: German freedom with Indian grit.

3. How is dance as an emotional outlet?

Two moments stand out where I felt my soul truly poured into my dance. One was during a low point when I had no energy for breaking. I started freestyling to a Billie Eilish song, and everything just clicked—it was pure freedom, like all my worries disappeared. The second time, I was overwhelmed by life, so I cranked up some rock music and threw myself into powermoves until I had nothing left. Dance allows me to express what words can’t—whether I’m floating or fighting through emotions, every move becomes a story.

4. What do you advice to young girls with big dreams?

No dream is too big. The only real limitation is in your imagination. There will be times when challenges feel overwhelming. I’ve experienced moments of self-doubt, wondering if I was good enough or if I’d achieve anything meaningful. But what matters is getting back up every time. Stay focused, stay positive, and keep working hard. Your time will come, and when it does, you’ll be ready to shine.

5. Who is your inspiration on and off the dance floor?

My biggest inspirations are my dad and my faith. God was my guiding light during one of the darkest phases of my life—He gave me hope and ignited my passion for breaking. As for my dad, his story is the definition of perseverance. At 16, he moved to Germany alone, with no money, education, or ability to read or write. But he never gave up. He worked 10-12 hours a day to support his family and give us a life of opportunities. His journey reminds me that hard work, faith, and determination can overcome any obstacle.

6. How do you see faith as a guiding force?

Faith means everything to me—it saved my life. During a tough phase, I prayed to Jesus, and He led me toward breaking. I had to make a hard choice between college and pursuing dance, but I trusted His plan. A month later, my Instagram blew up with 100K followers, and it felt like a sign. The road hasn’t been easy—there are injuries, failures, and doubts—but every setback teaches me something valuable. Even when things seem impossible, I trust that He has a purpose for me.

7. How did you stay grounded amid growing fame?

I stay grounded by staying true to my goals and values. Social media is a powerful tool, but I don’t let it define me. It’s not about being online all the time—it’s about offering something meaningful. I engage with social media on my own terms and never let it shift my focus. Fame isn’t what drives me. My goal is to leave a legacy, and I want to do it authentically, by adding value and staying aligned with my purpose.

8. Tell us about your dream collaboration.

If I could collaborate with anyone, it would be Chris Brown. His versatility and energy as a performer inspire me to dance with more passion. I believe a partnership with him would push me to discover new depths of creativity and elevate my craft to the next level.

9. What help you balance perfection and authenticity on social media?

Social media often highlights the final product, but I make it a point to share the journey too. Through my stories, I show the struggles, the failures, and the not-so-glamorous grind behind my success. Sometimes, I post reels that aren’t perfect, which is tough, but it’s important to show the reality. Progress isn’t always pretty—it’s the messy parts that make it real and worth celebrating.

10. What is the legacy you hope to leave?

I want to leave behind a legacy that inspires young women to break barriers and pursue their dreams fearlessly. I want them to look at my story and realize that anything is possible with hard work, faith, and resilience. If there’s one thing I hope people remember about me, it’s this: No matter how big the dream or how tough the journey, you can overcome anything—because the only limitation is your imagination.

Bio:

I am a trailblazing dancer rooted in the vibrant blend of German freedom and Indian determination. At just 21, I’ve made my mark in the breakdance world, breaking barriers in a male-dominated space fueled by faith, grit, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. My performances are deeply emotional, allowing me to express what words cannot—whether through raw powermoves or soulful freestyles.

Inspired by my father’s journey of perseverance and my unwavering faith in God, I navigate fame and social media on my own terms, staying true to my goals. I aim to leave a lasting legacy, inspiring the next generation of young women to dream big and rise higher. I believe that the only true limitation is imagination.
