Shreya Sanghi - How Staying Authentic Fuels Acting & Modeling (Actor & Model 132k Followers)

"Staying relevant means continuously learning and unlearning to adapt to changing times while staying true to myself."

1. How did your journey as an actor, model, and digital creator begin?

I was pursuing my Master's in English, and while I enjoyed studying literature, I felt the need to explore my creative side. I began creating content around fashion and food during my time as a student, and fortunately, it started gaining recognition. At the same time, I began auditioning for acting gigs and got the opportunity to work on several projects with some amazing brands. The entire experience was exhilarating, and that excitement kept me motivated to keep pushing forward.

2. How do you balance the various aspects of your career and stay relevant in this fast-paced industry?

Balancing content creation, acting, and modeling is all about prioritizing what you love the most and staying focused. I find the greatest joy in content creation, as it allows me to express myself in unique ways on my Instagram feed, and it never feels like "work." Acting and modeling require me to go through numerous auditions and handle rejections, but the fulfillment I get from the final product makes it all worthwhile. Staying relevant means continuously learning and unlearning to adapt to changing times while staying true to myself.

3. Can you share a particularly challenging or rewarding campaign or project?

While being on set may look glamorous, acting comes with its challenges—long working hours and an unpredictable workflow. Shooting for digital ads and TVCs has been both the most challenging and rewarding experience of my life. The key is to keep hustling as long as you genuinely enjoy the work. At the end of the day, coming home with a sense of contentment makes all the hard work worthwhile.

4. How do you handle the pressures and expectations of being a public figure online?

It's natural to be affected by negativity on social media, but as a public figure, I understand that I will receive all sorts of feedback. I remind myself that every bit of recognition is because of the people who take an interest in my life and content, and with that comes different opinions. Thankfully, the love and appreciation from so many people far outweigh the negativity. However, the pressures and expectations can impact mental health, so it's important to stay authentic, love what you do, and take breaks when needed to avoid feeling overwhelmed.

5. What fashion and beauty trends excite you right now, and how do you stay ahead?

I love seeing the growing emphasis on body positivity. I've always believed that fashion is for everyone, regardless of appearance, and I'm inspired by so many creators working towards helping young people feel comfortable in their own skin. This is one trend that I hope remains "in vogue" for years to come, and I aim to contribute to this movement.

6. What advice do you have for aspiring actors and creators on building a personal brand and career?

It's not easy. You have to be passionate and willing to put in the hard work. Like any career, you'll face challenges and setbacks, but consistency, a willingness to learn, and dedication can make all the difference. Also, don't overthink things—being in the public eye can be overwhelming, but you have to believe in what you're doing because you love it, not because you're waiting for others' approval. Just go with the flow and enjoy the process.

7. If you could star in a remake of any classic film or TV show, which one would it be and why?

I would love to be part of the movie "The Intern." It’s such a beautiful film that evokes every emotion—joy, nostalgia, excitement—and rekindles one's love for cinema.
