"Homoeopathy is nothing short of amazing. You’ll see lives transformed, illnesses healed, and patients finding relief in ways they never thought possible."

Q. What inspired you to pursue a career in homoeopathy, and what led you to specialize in this field?

I chose homoeopathy because of the incredible results I witnessed during my grandfather’s 45 years of practice. He successfully treated chronic conditions like psoriasis, arthritis, autoimmune diseases, and infertility—cases that would otherwise require steroidal treatments, surgeries, or had no cure in allopathic medicine.

I was amazed by how homoeopathy provided solutions in situations where other systems fell short. These results deeply motivated and inspired me to learn more about this system of medicine. So, when the opportunity came to pursue BHMS, I embraced it without hesitation, driven by the desire to treat patients effectively using this remarkable approach.

Q. What is the BHMS course about, what subjects are covered, and how long does it take to complete?

The Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) is a 5.5-year program, including a one-year internship, that integrates modern medical sciences with homeopathic principles. The curriculum covers Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Materia Medica, Organon of Medicine, Repertory, Homoeopathic Pharmacy, and clinical subjects like Medicine, Surgery, and Gynaecology.

Similar to MBBS, it combines theory and practical training, differing mainly in pharmacology, which focuses on homeopathic remedies. The internship provides hands-on clinical experience, preparing graduates for independent practice and patient-centered care.

Q. Why should we choose homoeopathy instead of allopathy? What’s the difference? and what is the scope and limitations of homoeopathy in healthcare?

Homoeopathy stands out as a highly effective and personalized system of medicine, particularly for chronic and lifestyle-related conditions such as adenoids, tonsillitis, PCOS, thyroid disorders, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and asthma. Its individualized approach tailors treatment by considering not just physical symptoms but also a patient’s personality, habits, lifestyle, emotional responses, and past traumas. This holistic method often achieves remarkable results, sometimes with just a single, well-prescribed dose.

While conventional medicine is indispensable for emergencies, surgeries, and acute care, homoeopathy excels in addressing root causes, enhancing long-term well-being, and managing conditions where allopathy might offer only temporary relief or symptomatic treatment. This unique focus on individualization and minimal side effects makes homoeopathy an invaluable and complementary system of healthcare.

Q. Can you share a memorable case where homoeopathy made a significant difference in a patient’s life?

Infertility Case:

One of the most remarkable achievements in my practice was helping a couple overcome infertility after being told by allopathic doctors that their only option was IVF. With no treatment left in conventional medicine, they turned to homoeopathy as their last hope. I prescribed a remedy to regulate her menstrual cycles, and within just a month, to my astonishment, she returned with a positive pregnancy test. The joy and tears in her eyes were unforgettable. This case was not just a success for me but a testament to the incredible power of homoeopathy, proving its potential in cases where allopathy offers no solution.

Hashimoto's Thyroiditis Case:

Another groundbreaking case was that of a 12-year-old girl suffering from Hashimoto's thyroiditis, an autoimmune condition deemed incurable in allopathy. Her abnormal antibody levels were a challenge conventional medicine could not address. Through a detailed study of her personality, behavior, and traumas, I crafted an individualized treatment plan. Within months, her antibody levels plummeted from a staggering 1200 to normal, something that allopathy could not achieve. This case not only validated the unparalleled effectiveness of homoeopathy but also fueled my mission to prove to the world that this system of medicine can achieve what others cannot.

Q. Do you think Homoeopathy is not getting recognised in our country yet?

Homoeopathy faces challenges like limited funding and slower research compared to the pharma-backed allopathic system. Its individualized approach, while highly effective, isn’t easily scalable for mass delivery, which has restricted widespread recognition.

However, with initiatives like the Ayush Ministry, efforts are being made to promote homoeopathy and other alternative systems, paving the way for greater acknowledgment in the future. A significant issue is the rise of unqualified practitioners prescribing homeopathic medicines without a proper understanding of allied medical subjects. This leads to poor outcomes, undermining trust in the system. I
strongly encourage patients to verify the credentials of practitioners to ensure they receive effective and authentic treatment.

Q. How do you handle situations where a patient requires immediate medical attention that homoeopathy cannot provide?

In emergencies or conditions requiring immediate medical attention, such as surgeries or critical care, I always recommend seeking conventional medical treatment, as saving the patient’s life is the highest priority. I strongly believe in collaboration between medical systems and refer such cases to my colleagues without hesitation, knowing a multidisciplinary approach ensures the best outcomes.

Homoeopathy, however, is a powerful system of medicine that goes beyond managing chronic conditions. It is effective in addressing a wide range of acute and chronic ailments by treating the root cause through individualized care. With minimal side effects and a holistic approach, homoeopathy complements conventional medicine, ensuring patients receive comprehensive and effective care in all situations.

Q. Who has been your greatest inspiration, personally or professionally, in your journey as a doctor?

From an early age, I aspired to become a doctor, which naturally led me toward science and, eventually, medicine. My journey into homoeopathy was profoundly influenced by my teachers and professors, whose clinical expertise and dedication inspired me. Through their guidance and my education, I developed a deep passion for homoeopathy.

On a personal level, I have experienced the effectiveness of homeopathic medicines firsthand, as they have always worked for common ailments within my family. This reinforced my belief in its potential as a holistic and impactful system of medicine.

To contribute to spreading awareness, I’ve started an Instagram channel to educate people about homoeopathy and its benefits. My goal is to make homoeopathy accessible to every household, offering affordable and holistic healthcare solutions for a healthier society.

Q. What are your thoughts on the current research in homoeopathy, and how does it impact your practice?

Well, homeopathic medicines are often labeled as placebo or pseudoscience because allopathic practitioners argue that the ultra-dilution process leaves no active medicinal substance in the solution. However, recent studies have shown that these solutions do contain nanoparticles of the original substance.

Now, the claim is that since we don’t yet know the biochemical pathways through which these nanoparticles might act, they cannot have any real therapeutic effect and are merely placebo. But I believe this limitation is due to the current state of technology.

We simply don’t have the tools yet to detect or understand how these nanoparticles interact with the body. The day technology advances and we can identify these pathways, I’m confident it will provide the scientific evidence needed to validate how homoeopathic medicines actually work.

Q. What advice would you give to students or young professionals considering a career in homoeopathy?

The advice I would give to aspiring homoeopaths is this: Homoeopathy, like allopathy and Ayurveda, is a beautiful and powerful system of medicine with the purpose of helping people live healthier, happier lives.

As a doctor, your ultimate priority should always be your patients—their well-being, their recovery, and their happiness. True healing lies in understanding which system of medicine is best suited for each patient and treating them with care and compassion.

To those who may feel uncertain or have second thoughts about this extraordinary field, I want to assure you—homoeopathy is nothing short of amazing. Learn it with passion, and you will discover its ability to bring hope where there seems to be none. You’ll see lives transformed, illnesses healed, and patients finding relief in ways they never thought possible.

Homoeopathy has the potential to work wonders—not only as effectively as other systems of medicine but, in some cases, even better. Trust in it, dedicate yourself to it, and you’ll find immense fulfillment in helping others in ways you never imagined.
