"Women's health isn’t just about treating symptoms—it’s about fostering sustainable wellness through awareness, accessibility, and empowerment."  – Jyoti Sharma

1.
Can you share your journey and inspiration behind founding Femease?

My journey with Femease began during my second year of college when I, along with two classmates, worked on a project about the condition of marginalised women in India, specifically focusing on prostitutes. Our research led us to an NGO, which provided medical aid to women in the GB Road red-light district. While interacting with these women, I realised that they had little to no awareness about essential health aspects, such as menstrual hygiene, reproductive health, and ways to avoid unwanted pregnancies.

This experience opened my eyes to the glaring gaps in women's wellness in India, where access to healthcare and education about their own bodies was severely lacking. It was then that I decided to dedicate myself to empowering women with better health solutions—solutions that are accessible, informed, and holistic.

My passion further materialised when I founded My Cara, where we have organic cotton-based sanitary pads and menstrual cups which promotes sustainable menstruation. Further, when I realised that menstruation is just one piece of the puzzle, and women’s health requires a more comprehensive, personalised, and long-term approach.

This led me to start Femease, a FemTech platform that bridges the gap between modern science and holistic wellness, empowering women to take control of their health with expert-backed insights and personalised care.

Through Femease, I aim to create a space where women feel heard, understood, and supported—whether they are managing PCOS, hormonal imbalances, or simply striving for better well-being.Femease is more than a startup to me; it’s a mission born out of real experiences and a deep commitment to women’s wellness and empowerment.

2. What gap in women’s health and wellness did you aim to address with Femease?

The biggest gap I observed was the fragmented approach to women’s health. Most solutions focus on isolated issues—menstrual care, fertility, or fitness—but fail to address the interconnected nature of women’s health.

Many women lack awareness about how their menstrual health is linked to broader health conditions such as PCOS, thyroid disorders, and even mental well-being. Femease aims to provide a comprehensive, personalised approach that combines expertise with knowledge, empowering women with the knowledge and tools they need to take charge of their health.

3. How does Artificial Intelligence contribute to Femease’s mission of correlating menstrual hygiene with broader health parameters?

AI plays a crucial role in Femease by analysing patterns in menstrual health data and linking them to broader health indicators such as hormonal balance, nutrition deficiencies, and lifestyle habits.

Our AI-driven insights help women understand how factors like stress, sleep, and diet impact their menstrual cycles and overall well-being.

By leveraging AI, we can provide personalised recommendations and proactive health interventions, making it easier for women to address underlying health issues before they escalate. So, we also work in preventative healthcare.

4. Why did you choose to integrate modern science with Ayurvedic wisdom in your approach?

Women’s health is deeply personal and holistic, and I believe that a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work. Modern science offers diagnostic precision and evidence-based treatments, while Ayurveda provides time-tested practices that focus on beauty and wellness.

By integrating both, Femease offers a unique blend of personalised care that respects traditional wellness practices in self care while staying grounded in scientific research. This approach helps women embrace sustainable, long-term health solutions rather than quick fixes.

5. What unique strategies does Femease employ to manage lifestyle-related conditions like PCOS, arthritis, and thyroid disorders?

Femease follows a multidisciplinary approach that addresses the root causes rather than just the symptoms. We combine personalised nutrition plans, fitness routines, stress management therapies to create a comprehensive care plan. Our approach emphasises early detection, habit formation, and lifestyle modifications to ensure long-term health management.

We also offer digital support through expert consultations and community engagement, our Femease Fam to provide women with the motivation and knowledge they need to stay on track.

6. What challenges have you faced in implementing a holistic health model, and how have you overcome them?

One of the biggest challenges has been breaking myths and misconceptions around women’s health and encouraging them to prioritise their well-being proactively. Many women tend to seek help only when faced with major health issues.

To overcome this, we focus on education and awareness through social media, workshops, and collaborations. Another challenge was integrating diverse healthcare disciplines into a seamless user experience, which we tackled by building a strong network of experts and leveraging technology to provide personalised, scalable solutions.

7. How do you ensure Femease’s health insights remain personalised and ethically managed?

Personalisation is at the core of what we do, and we take privacy and ethical management very seriously. Our data-driven insights are designed to be transparent, ensuring that users always have control over their information.

We follow strict data security protocols and comply with health data regulations to protect user confidentiality. Additionally, our recommendations are based on verified principles, ensuring they are safe, effective, and tailored to each individual’s unique health profile.

8. What role do experts like nutritionists and fitness coaches play in your multidisciplinary approach, and how do you ensure seamless collaboration?

Our team of experts—including nutritionists, fitness coaches, gynaecologists, mental health specialists—plays a crucial role in delivering holistic care. They work together to create integrated health plans that align with a woman’s specific needs.

To ensure seamless collaboration, we use a digital platform where experts can access shared health data, communicate with each other, and provide coordinated advice. Regular follow-ups and progress tracking help ensure that women receive continuous, comprehensive support.

9. Are there any upcoming innovations or expansions that you’re particularly excited about at Femease?

Yes, we are excited about expanding our health plans to include endometriosis wellness, and more AI-driven personalised insights. We have been working on launching an interactive community platform where women can share their experiences, seek expert advice, and find motivation, and we have launched this on the latest version of Femease app.

Another exciting initiative is our plan to introduce more similar features that will help women track their hormonal health in real time, providing even deeper insights into their well-being.

10. How do you measure the success and impact of Femease on women’s lives?

Success for us is reflected in the positive changes women experience in their health and confidence. We track progress through user feedback, health improvements reported by our community, and engagement metrics from our platform.

Additionally, our impact is measured by the growing number of women who proactively adopt healthier lifestyles, our retention rates, and testimonials highlighting how Femease has helped them overcome health challenges.

11. If Femease were a wellness product or concept, how would you describe it and why?

If Femease were a wellness product or concept, it would be “Your Personalised Women’s Health Companion”—a holistic blend of modern science and ancient wisdom that empowers women to take charge of their well-being at every stage of life.

It seamlessly integrates nutrition, fitness, mental wellness, and gynaecological care, offering personalised, AI-driven insights and expert guidance to address hormonal imbalances, menstrual health, fertility, and lifestyle-related conditions like PCOS and thyroid disorders.

Femease is more than just a solution; it’s an empowering ecosystem that educates, supports, and nurtures women through sustainable wellness practices, ensuring they feel heard, understood, and cared for every step of the way.
