Kunwar Deep - I’m Grateful That My Work Attracts Great Brands (Founder Ecomjet, 295K+ Followers)

"I started as a medical student at AIIMS, but one ₹4,000 profit during the lockdown changed everything—now, I teach others how to build their own success."

1. From childhood dreams to business strategies—did you always see yourself as an entrepreneur, or was there a turning point that changed everything?

I’ve never shared this before, but as a child, I actually dreamed of becoming a doctor and owning my own hospital. I got into AIIMS, completed my MBBS, and during my third year—right in the middle of the COVID lockdown—I stumbled upon e-commerce. I spent months learning everything I could, and when I finally made my first profit of ₹4,000, something just clicked. That moment ignited my inner entrepreneur.

Now, I’m working toward blending my medical background with business to create something impactful—both for society and aspiring entrepreneurs. It’s a long road ahead, but I’m excited about where it’s leading.

2. You help people make money online, but what’s the biggest money mistake you’ve ever made? Any regrets?

I don’t really see anything as a mistake—just a lesson in disguise. But if I had to pick one, it would be my early dive into crypto. Like many beginners, I followed the hype instead of doing my own research. I ended up losing money, but that experience taught me a valuable lesson: no one can make money for you better than you can for yourself.

As I always say, "The sweetest wine can turn into the sharpest vinegar." If something seems too good to be true, proceed with caution.

3. Creating content on business strategies is competitive—what makes @the_ecomjet stand out from the crowd?

I think my “secret sauce” is not obsessing over competition. Instead, I stay true to myself and draw inspiration from everywhere—books, YouTube, real-life experiences, and even my dreams. My goal is to simplify complex business concepts, making them engaging while showing both the highs and the struggles.

For anyone looking to stand out, don’t just copy what’s already out there. Learn from the best, but then make it your own. Authenticity attracts the right audience.

4. Your collaborations include major brands—what’s the most unexpected brand deal you’ve landed?

I’m grateful that my work attracts great brands, big and small. But the most unexpected deal I landed was with a major U.S. company that every e-commerce entrepreneur has likely heard of. What started as a conversation for a single video turned into a one-year sponsorship worth several thousand dollars!

I can’t reveal details due to an NDA, but it was definitely a “pinch me” moment.

5. You mentor aspiring entrepreneurs—what’s the biggest misconception people have about making money online?

The biggest myth is that making money online is instant—people think they can watch a short video and start earning big overnight. In reality, building a successful online business takes time, trial and error, and constant learning.

When I started, I would learn something new and immediately put it into practice, figuring things out as I went. It’s a journey full of twists and turns, and adaptability is key.

My personal formula for success revolves around six core values: temperance, energy, punctuality, honesty, systems, and economy. Learn from everyone and everything relevant to your goals.

6. If you had to restart your career from scratch—zero followers, no connections—what would be your game plan?

If I were starting over, my first priority would be to develop a high-value skill—whether through formal education or self-learning—that provides financial stability while I work toward my dream career. Many people overlook traditional jobs, but they can be a great way to fund your entrepreneurial journey.

Once I had a marketable skill, I’d focus on one key strategy: cold email outreach. I’d reach out to hundreds of potential clients every day until I made my first $1,000. It sounds intense, but it’s more achievable than people think.

TL;DR: Master a valuable skill that people are willing to pay for. Then, reach out to potential clients daily until you land your first paying customer. After that, success starts building on its own.
