"Walking the Cannes red carpet was surreal! It gave me international visibility, opened doors beyond India, and proved that Indian regional cinema is making its mark globally."
1. After 18 years in the industry, how would you describe yourself beyond acting?
Beyond acting, I see myself as a dreamer, a believer, and a relentless go-getter. While acting is my first love, I also have a deep passion for fashion, travel, and personal growth. Relationships matter immensely to me—be it family, friends, or my fans, who have been my unwavering support system.
2. How has Gujarati cinema evolved since your debut, and what excites you about its future?
Gujarati cinema has undergone a remarkable transformation! When I started, it was deeply rooted in traditional storytelling, but today, it embraces modern narratives, higher production values, and a fresh wave of talent. What excites me most is its growing recognition on national and international platforms. Audiences are more receptive to diverse genres, which creates incredible opportunities for actors like me to experiment.
3. Cannes is a big milestone. How did those invitations impact your career?
Walking the Cannes red carpet was surreal! It brought international visibility, opened doors to collaborations beyond India, and reinforced my belief that dedication pays off. More importantly, it highlighted how Indian regional cinema is making a global impact. The experience broadened my perspective on storytelling and inspired me to push creative boundaries.
4. You’ve worked across Gujarati, Rajasthani, and Punjabi industries. What’s the biggest challenge in adapting?
Each industry has its own essence, audience expectations, and storytelling styles. The biggest challenge is adapting to the cultural nuances—whether it’s language, references, or performance styles. But that’s what makes it exciting! As an actor, I thrive on immersing myself in different cinematic worlds and bringing authenticity to each role.
5. With Sanghavi and Sons coming up, what kind of roles excite you now?
I’m drawn to roles that challenge me and allow me to explore different shades of my personality. Strong, independent female characters fascinate me—whether in a high-glam role or a deeply emotional narrative. I’d also love to delve into period dramas and intense romantic stories that leave a lasting impact.
6. If you could give your 2006 self one piece of advice, what would it be?
Believe in yourself more and take risks fearlessly. Every setback is a stepping stone, and everything happens for a reason. Also, enjoy the journey—sometimes, we’re so focused on chasing success that we forget to celebrate the small wins.
7. Moving from Gandhidham to Mumbai was a big leap. Did you ever feel lost, and how did you push through?
Absolutely! Mumbai can be overwhelming, especially for someone from a small town chasing big dreams. There were moments of self-doubt, but I held onto my passion. My family's support, my faith, and sheer determination kept me going. Every struggle only made me stronger and more resilient.
8. You named your dog Taimur, and the internet went crazy! Do you enjoy social media humor?
Haha, that was unexpected! I absolutely love social media humor. It’s refreshing to see people engage with my life in such a fun way. I believe in not taking myself too seriously—sometimes, laughing at yourself is the best way to connect with people.
9. If you could switch lives with any Bollywood actor for a day, who would it be and why?
Probably Priyanka Chopra! She has built a global empire while staying true to her roots. From Bollywood to Hollywood, her philanthropy, and the way she’s redefined what it means to be an Indian actress internationally—I admire her journey immensely.
