Shyamalima Baruah – Losing My Father Was the Most Painful Experience of My Life (Entrepreneur, Ex-Aviation Professional, 41k)

“Leaving my aviation career to support my family was one of the hardest yet most meaningful decisions I’ve made. Success isn’t just about personal milestones—it’s about standing by the people who matter most.”

1. Your journey spans geography, aviation, and now entrepreneurship. How has each phase shaped you?

Each phase of my journey has been a lesson in growth. Geography taught me to see beyond borders, aviation instilled precision and adventure, and entrepreneurship is shaping me into a risk-taker and leader. Life isn’t about staying in one place—it’s about evolving, adapting, and chasing dreams with fearless determination.

2. How has growing up in Assam influenced your business and digital presence?

Assam’s blend of tradition and progress has deeply influenced me. It taught me the value of staying rooted while embracing change—something I apply to both my business and digital presence. Authenticity, adaptability, and creating meaningful impact are at the heart of everything I do.

3. Leaving a stable job to support family is a big decision. How did it reshape your ambitions?

Leaving my aviation career to support my family was one of the hardest yet most meaningful decisions I’ve made. It reshaped my ambitions, showing me that success isn’t just about personal milestones—it’s about standing by the people who matter most. Letting go was tough, but I believe that when one door closes, another—more fulfilling one—opens. Now, I’m embracing this journey with faith, determination, and the hope of building something truly impactful.

4. How has your father’s passing influenced your resilience and future goals?

Losing my father was the most painful experience of my life, but it became a turning point. It forced me to step up, take responsibility, and find strength I never knew I had. I realized that life doesn’t stop for anyone, and resilience is built in the hardest moments. His absence has fueled my determination to build a future that reflects his values and the strength he instilled in me.

5. From Taekwondo to yoga, what connects your passion for martial arts and wellness?

Discipline, strength, and mindfulness. Taekwondo builds power, speed, and resilience, while yoga enhances flexibility, balance, and inner peace. Both require focus, control, and self-improvement, making them a perfect blend of physical and mental well-being.

6. What gap in the market do you aim to fill with your upcoming business?

I’ve noticed a gap in truly personalized, hassle-free event experiences. Many event planning services either lack creativity, attention to detail, or affordability. My goal is to bridge this gap by offering uniquely curated events that blend creativity, cost-effectiveness, and flawless execution—ensuring every event feels exclusive and stress-free.

7. What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned about taking risks in entrepreneurship?

Fear and doubt will always exist, but so will the potential for something incredible. After losing my father, I had to step up, trust myself, and take charge like never before. Every risk I take now isn’t just for success—it’s for the dreams my family and I hold close. Some risks bring rewards, others bring lessons, but all lead to growth. And that, to me, is invaluable.

8. What advice would you give to someone struggling with change?

Embrace the discomfort—growth never happens in your comfort zone. Change isn’t an end; it’s a new beginning. Instead of resisting it, focus on what you can control, take small steps forward, and trust that every challenge is shaping you into a stronger version of yourself. The toughest roads often lead to the most beautiful destinations. Keep pushing forward—you’re stronger than you think.

9. If your life were a martial arts move, which one would it be and why?

A Tornado Kick—because life throws challenges at me, and I spin through them with power, precision, and style.
